Love Is Blind star Shayne Jansen flamed out on drugs and alcohol after getting swept up in the whirl of reality TV fame – but he has now achieved sobriety and embarked on a fitness journey that resulted in a staggeringly sculpted gym body.
The 36-year-old shot to stardom in 2022 on season two of the dating show, where couples ‘date’ virtually and get engaged before meeting in person.
Jansen was famously dumped at the altar by his fiancée Natalie Mina Lee, but threw himself into the party lifestyle afforded by his fame.
‘I was like Brad Pitt in Chicago for a good three months…I could go to the best steakhouse and that owner probably was doing some drugs…and I would go back in the room and do it,’ he said in a new interview with the New York Post.
However by 2023, fans were begging him to seek ‘help’ in the comments of a TikTok Live in which he looking bedraggled and muttered that he ‘self sabotages everything.’
He eventually went on the wagon and swapped out the club for the gym, posting a head-spinning before-and-after image showing his new musclebound physique – one that left his female fans hiring him in droves as their fitness trainer.

Jansen has now spoken candidly about the hedonistic lifestyle he threw himself into after his reality TV stardom gave him the opportunity to do so.
‘We were just living like rock stars. I would never wait in line at a club at all. I could talk to any girl…Anything I wanted I could have there instantly,’ he dished.
‘But it’s not healthy, when you get a lot of yes and no nos – that’s a dangerous game to play,’ remarked Jansen, who grew up in Wisconsin.
In autumn 2022, months after he rose to notoriety on Love is Blind, he heartbreakingly revealed announced the death of his mother Karen, whom he called his ‘best friend.’
Then in April 2023 came his infamous TikTok Live, in which he slurred his words and became incoherent, though he managed to allude glancingly to his self-sabotage.
Fans took note of his unkempt appearance and muddled ramblings, leaping into the comments to share their concerns for his well-being.
At the time, the TV personality had filmed himself with disheveled hair while also sporting a printed shirt and two silver-chained necklaces.

In his new interview, Jansen explained, ‘And all I kept seeing was that number [of viewers] climb…and then I was like: “Oh my God, what did I do?” I got 10 phone calls right after. People I hadn’t heard from in years. That’s when you knew it was bad.’
As a result, he overhauled his life, not only by getting sober but also by decamping from Chicago to Austin on the grounds that the latter city would be less likely to lure him back into his previous self-destructive patterns.
With a strenuous workout regimen that saw him make four weekly trips to the gym, he became a 210lb musclebound Adonis, down from his previous softer 230lbs.
And when he posted his before-and-after shirtless snaps in July, the star unveiled his incredible transformation.
Jansen had written in the caption: ‘Progress doesn’t just come from doing “more,” it comes from doing what you can, consistently.’
The reality concluded by promoting his own fitness coaching.

While talking to the New York Post, the TV personality also discussed how most of his following are women.
‘Most of my clientele are 40-year-old moms. I’m in a massive group text with 50 moms. It’s hilarious.’
But some comments aren’t as positive with some saying, ‘Men will do anything but go to therapy.’
Jansen responded to this by sharing, ‘I don’t understand this one way of thinking, like, I don’t spend my whole 24 hours in the gym. It shows that I got discipline, structure. And it’s a habit that got me away from my other stuff.’
