The White Stripes' Jack White has branded Taylor Swift's break-up music 'boring' and questioned why the singer shares 'really painful' moments in her lyrics.
The rocker, 50, admitted not finding 36-year-old's songs about her 'publicly aired break-up' interesting and said that he avoids writing about tunes about his own relationships.
'Now it's become very popular in the way of pop singers writing about all of their publicly aired break-ups, which I don't find interesting at all. I think it's a little bit boring for me to write about myself'.
The eight time winner explained that while he does put 'a percentage' of his personal experience into his lyrics, he prefers to channel the emotions into fictional characters and write songs from their point of view.
Jack said another reason he avoided writing songs about his own experiences was due to him not want to relive certain moments every time he performed.
'If it's something really painful, I'm not going to put this important, painful thing that I went through out there for some idiot on the internet to stomp all over'.
