Radio 1 Host Reveals Baby Bump After IVF

Radio 1 presenter Lauren Layfield has announced she is expecting her first child with her husband Luke Beddows.

The DJ took to her Instagram page on Friday evening to reveal the happy news to her followers as she showed off her bare baby bump.

Lauren penned: 'Guys, in what's been called 'a very off-brand' move from us…we're having an actual baby!

'After almost 20 years(!) together, little baby Beddows arrives to ruin our lives in June,' she said.

'(Honestly there's been SO MUCH going on I need to tell you about).'

One snap showed Lauren enjoying a snack in her underwear as her husband Luke placed his hand on her belly.

Another picture shared alongside her pregnancy announcement saw Luke holding up an ultrasound picture as they stood on a London Underground platform.

Popular presenter Lauren was flooded with congratulations by fans, including from her celebrity pals. 

Melvin Odoom replied: 'Congratulations ❤️ wonderful news!x' while Michelle Ackerley said: 'Congratulations!!'

Another fan said: 'Oh my GOD! Incredible news! Congratulations ❤️ (that drive studio worked it’s magic I see)'; 

'WHOA! Fantastic news! Congratulations!'; 'Congrats darling!! So pleased for you'. 

Lauren presents The Official Chart: First Look show and Radio 1‘s LifeHacks for the BBC.

In 2024 she took over the show with Shanequa Paris from Vick Hope and Katie Thistleton.

Life Hacks, which airs every Sunday 4pm to 6pm, is a weekly show and podcast dedicated to open and frank discussions about issues affecting young people.

Speaking at the time of the announcement, Lauren said: 'I'm absolutely over-the-moon to officially be joining the BBC Radio 1 family.

'I've listened and loved Radio 1 since I was a teenager and it's a total privilege to join the ranks.

'Life Hacks is such an iconic show discussing everything from health to careers to relationships; as a journalist one of my favourite things to do is talk to people about their own stories and I know the Radio 1 listeners are so wonderfully willing to share. I can't wait to head up the chat!'

Lauren previously worked for Capital FM before moving to the BBC.
