Jennifer Lopez and Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G set tongues wagging after flouting strict dress codes with their Wimbledon looks when they attended the famous British tennis tournament.

The Jenny From The Block singer's gargantuan hat was deemed 'inappropriate' by critics for potentially impairing of the person behind her in the stands.

Meanwhile, actor Sacha's Ali G character left attendees scratching their heads over how the 'Official Ganja Dealer' managed to make it to the stands to join the Prince and in watching beat  in the final..

After their much-talked about appearances at the event, we take a look at the public faux pas committed by celebrities who don't seem to care about breaking the rules.

Earlier this year, Paloma Faith, 44, received backlash for also wearing a huge hat when she attended the BAFTA TV awards, with her inconsiderate fashion choice 'irritating' viewers at home.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift, 36, irked people when she 'shut down' New York City to host her wedding to her husband Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.

The officers in the New York Police department were pulled from other duties on an already busy holiday weekend to manage public outside the iconic venue.

JLo prompted fury from tennis fans as she wore a huge sunhat to the men's singles final at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club

Another star who has historically thrown caution to the wind when it comes to social convention is Sean Penn, who was caught smoking at the Golden Globes this year.

We take a look at a run down of celebrities who have made the headlines for their awkward social gaffes...

Wimbledon is known for – but celebrities in the stands can also spark backlash with their outfits.

JLo

The 56-year-old singer went to extreme levels to protect herself from the sun as Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev to win the title for the second consecutive year.

But fans branded Jennifer's hat 'inappropriate' and inconsiderate to the spectators sitting behind her.

Taking to X (formerly ), one angry fan penned: '@ this type of hat is inappropriate for such events! You should do your homework lady!'

Another joked that it was so big it looked like she had folded up a cardboard box as they wrote: 'JLo looks like she has made her hat from an amazon box!'

Other frustrated fans added: '@JLo just so you know, with that hat, guests that paid a lot of money to be right there , can't watch because you like to look good for Instagram.';

The singer, 56, went to extreme levels to protect herself from the sun and fans have branded the accessory 'inappropriate' and inconsiderate to the people sitting behind her

'However JLo entered wearing a huge hat. They should have required her to remove It';

'The hat is a bit much taking into consideration the people behind and next to you.'; 'JLo looks ridiculous in that hat. Pay attention to me as usual.';

'Love the outfit just not the hat for this kind of event. First, it looks a bit like a crumpled paper bag. Maybe the  Derby because it's a hat show. But tennis matches are conservative, crisp, & clean so the attire should match the sport. You have great hair. Work it.'

But others rushed to the star's defence as they explained she did remove it later in the game as she spent the day with Tom Hiddleston.

They wrote: 'She took the hat off. People leave this woman alone'; 'Big hat energy. JLo looks absolutely adorable!'

Sacha Baron Cohen, who also attended the Wimbledon men's final, left jaws dropping when he resurrected his iconic Ali G character, 28 years after its inception.

The actor, 54, dressed as the Staines-based faux gangster in a white and green Wimbledon themed tracksuit with 'Da Championshipz' and a marijuana leaf printed on the badge as he took his seat on Centre Court, in scenes said to be for a new film.

Attendees were scratching their heads over how the 'Official Ganja Dealer' managed to make it to the stands to join the Prince and in watching beat in the final.

It has been revealed that Sacha was disguised in a mask, sunglasses, a hat and a dark jacket before changing into the ensemble after an aide went ahead to carry his clothes in - including the garish tracksuit and fake bags of weed.

A source told The Sun: 'There were people hired to go inside Wimbledon with his outfit, and he changed once he got inside and put on his Ali G clobber...

Last year, Sacha was reported to be 'bringing back his iconic comic creation Ali G' (pictured in character in 2000)

'Official Ganja Dealer' was printed on the back of the tracksuit and the star also wore a hat, a heavy gold chain and trademark tinted glasses

'There were fears he'd get kicked out immediately so he had four bodyguards inside and one outside to protect him. Footage was captured of Sacha by his team. They're thrilled how well it landed and it'll be used for the film.'

Speaking from the crowd in an Instagram video, Sacha said in the style of Ali G: 'Is at the men's singles in Wimbledon. It's like the World Cup of something called tennis, which is like a c**p version of ping pong...

'Them say that tennis is better played on grass, which is why I intend to sell as much of it while I was here,' Ali said, before he jokingly went on to plug a variety of recreational drugs he was 'selling' at the tournament.

He captioned the post: 'I iz BACK! And if u iz at dis borin wimbledore final lookin 2 get grand slammed, I iz here wif de hookup. dm me, especially if u iz fit' (sic).

He also shared a shot of a DVD of his TV series and wrote: 'dm me if u want to buy one of these DVD box sets. Me iz got like 10,000 of dem. Dey iz very rare. Free pickup in the northwest surrey area.' (sic).

Sacha attended day 13 of Wimbledon on Saturday as himself dressed in a smart white suit and green shirt.

Taylor Swift 'shuts down' New York

faced heat over her recent wedding extravaganza amid the record temperatures and the furious New Yorkers caught up in the chaos.

NYPD officers were pulled from other duties on an already busy holiday weekend in order to manage the circus around the Taylor and Travis Kelce wedding.

'It's the 250th anniversary of the United States of America,' one detective fumed at the time.

'The NYPD should be watching out for terrorists. A wedding should be the last thing the NYPD should be worried about.'

'I understand to an extent that Taylor Swift may need a uniformed detail,' another official told the Daily Mail.

'But now, detectives and supervisors need to come off investigative assignments to stand around Madison Square Garden so she can get married.'

Taylor Swift faced heat over her recent wedding extravaganza amid the record temperatures and the furious New Yorkers caught up in the chaos

The NYPD put out an order to commands throughout the city to work uniformed details starting Thursday afternoon with the wedding rehearsal. Additional personnel were assigned for Friday morning into the night.

'Hundreds of cops are going to be reassigned from today until the wee hours of Saturday morning to cover her wedding at the garden,' the official said. 'No one is investigating anything.'

The police presence generated backlash, with New York Representative Nicole Malliotakis writing on X, 'Taylor Swift & should reimburse NYPD for the 130 officers needed per day to keep their multi-million dollar, thousand person wedding at MSG safe.

'Our officers are already working overtime for 4th of July festivities & NYC taxpayers should NOT be on the hook.'

Franko Agallio, 26, a local resident, said he resented the wedding going ahead at a time when New Yorkers are being told to turn down their AC units to prevent blackouts.

'It is so stupid to turn lights off and save energy while she is having her wedding, knowing that is where all the energy will be going,' he said.

The NYPD has not provided specific numbers or estimated costs. The Daily Mail has reached out to the NYPD, mayor's office and Swift's spokesman for comment.

Swift appeared to anticipate the backlash her nuptials would cause. The Cruel Summer songstress announced on Thursday that she was donating $26million to charities including a New York food bank and a children's hospital.

Sean Penn

Known for marching to the beat of his own drum,  has carelessly flouted rules over the years.

The Oscar winner, whose first acting gig was in the 1982 prison drama Bad Boys, landed in the ' bad books  earlier this year.

Sean, 65, is said to risk facing a fine following his choice to light a cigarette inside the Beverly Hilton - a smoke-free venue. It has been illegal to smoke indoors in  since 1995.

According to the Department, fines range from $81 to $324 and $100 for first time infraction in state law.

Unable to get through the Golden Globes without his nicotine fix, Sean was photographed smoking next to Leonardo and .

Fans on X, who pointed out the supposed fine, have branded the long-time smoker 'arrogant' for ignoring protocols at the star-studded ceremony.

But it isn't the first time the One Battle After Another star has broken the rules.

Having had three brushes with the law over the years, Sean has proved he is the real life Bad Boy (pictured with Esai Morales in the 1983 movie)

According to smoking guidelines in Los Angeles, smoking and vaping are now prohibited in all smoke-free places.

Sean - who had high-profile romances with Madonna, Robin Wright and Charlize Theron - has made headlines for his controversial behaviour and fiery temper.

His first issue came in 1985 when the actor physically attacked two journalists trying to photograph him and Madonna in Nashville - an incident which began a dangerous pattern that led to Sean being sentenced to prison two years later.

Sean was already on probation when he was shooting Colors following a charge of misdemeanor battery for assaulting songwriter David Wolinski at Helena's nightclub in Los Angeles.

He was under strict conditions not to break his probation, but all hell broke loose while he was on set of the film, and his reputation was further tarnished.

In 1987 Sean had another brush with the law after punching an extra on the set of his film Colors.

After he attacked Jeffrey Klein, he was arrested and sentenced to 60 days in jail for assault. Sean served 33 days of the 60-day sentence.

Molly Mae's parking tickets

Molly Mae Hague has been regularly spotted tearing parking tickets off her £250,000 Mercedes G-Wagon.

The former Love Island star, 26, got slapped with a fine for the ninth time in a year as she parked in a no loading zone in Cheshire in May.

Just the month before, Molly-Mae received a yellow ticket for parking in a loading bay outside her office and last year, she received two within 24 hours of each other.

It is illegal to park in a loading zone unless you are actively loading or unloading goods and are following all posted rules.

Private cars are often restricted from using loading bays and can incur a fine of £70 in Cheshire.

Given her wealth and successful businesses, social media users often joke that the fines are simply a "cost of doing business," while others question why she keeps parking in the same restricted spot.

Met Gala rebels

The Met Gala bathroom rebels are a group of celebrities who became famous for breaking two of the event's biggest rules: no smoking and no selfies.

The trend really took off at the 2017 Met Gala, when a series of candid photos and videos emerged from the museum's bathrooms showing stars smoking cigarettes, taking selfies, and hanging out away from the formal dinner.

Some of the celebrities photographed smoking or appearing in those now-iconic bathroom images included: Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson, Marc Jacobs, Paris Jackson, Ruby Rose, Lara Stone, Rita Ora and Rami Malek.

The backlash was significant because smoking is prohibited inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art under 's smoke-free laws.

The incident prompted criticism from city health officials, and the Met reinforced its policy in subsequent years.

Ironically, while the smoking largely stopped, the selfie tradition has continued.

Every year, guests gather in the bathrooms to take unofficial group photos despite the event's longstanding no-phone rule, making the bathroom an unofficial part of Met Gala culture.

Bruce blows his nose on stage

Bruce Springsteen horrified fans at a show earlier this year when he released a 'snot rocket' midway through a song during his U.S. tour in May.

While most people would step away to clear their airways, The Boss did it in full view of his crowd with no regard for social decency.

Bruce, 76, was performing Glory Days but there was nothing glorious about his next move.

The singer bent over and put his hand to his nose before clearing the snot from his nose by blowing it onto the stage floor.

Commenting underneath a clip of the moment, fans said: 'Did he just blow a snot rocket?'; 'Who the f*** does that?' and 'Well that's gross'.

BIGGEST RULE BREAKERS EVER

Two of the most memorable rule breaks in recent pop culture history were created by Will Smith and Kanye West.

Actor Will shocked Hollywood when he slapped Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

The actor, 57, struck Chris, 61, on stage over a joke about his wife Jada's shaved head, which was due to her alopecia diagnosis.

The now infamous moment led to a 10-year ban from the Oscars and sparked global backlash.

The slap remains one of the most shocking and talked-about moments in Oscars history.

It unfolded during the 94th Academy Awards at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, as Chris was presenting the award for Best Documentary.

The actor, 56, reflected on the incident - where he struck Chris, 60, on stage over a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head, which was due to her alopecia diagnosis

While on stage, he made a joke about Jada's shaved head, comparing her to Demi Moore's look in the 1997 film G.I. Jane.

Jada, who has alopecia, didn't find the comment amusing - and moments later, Will stormed the stage and struck Chris across the face with an open-handed slap.

'Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me,' Chris said from the stage after being hit.

The actor then returned to his seat beside Jada and, still visibly furious, shouted at Chris to 'keep my wife's name out your f***ing mouth' - twice - leaving the audience stunned.

Taylor Swift has won hundreds of awards, but she'll likely never forget her 2009 Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Rapper Kanye West rushed the stage, stealing the microphone from the unsuspecting singer and insisting fellow nominee Beyonce had 'one of the best videos of all time.'

The shocking interruption threw off the Blank Space singer's VMA acceptance speech.

After it was announced that Taylor had one Best Female Video for You Belong With Me, Kanye headed to the stage to denounce her victory over close friend Beyonce.

Taylor began her acceptance speech for the coveted award, saying: 'Thank you so much! I always dreamed about what it would be like to maybe win one of these some day, but I never actually thought it would have happened.

Taylor Swift has won hundreds of awards, but she'll likely never forget her 2009 Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards

'I sing country music so thank you so much for giving me a chance to win a VMA award.'

However, she was quickly interrupted by Kanye, who said: 'Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time.'

He was referencing Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) which was also nominated in the category. However, the mortified look on Beyonce's face seemed to hint she didn't share his opinion of Taylor's win.

She later invited Taylor onstage to give a proper acceptance speech when she won the award for Video of the Year.
