After welcoming her first child, Billy, with husband in December 2024, Olympia Valance is still very much basking in the glow of new motherhood.

'It's the best thing that's ever happened to me,' Olympia, 33, told Daily Mail after a trip with Billy to baby gymnastics.

'It's beautiful, it's chaotic, it's exhausting, and magical all at once.

'There's nothing that prepares you for how much you can love someone. I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this kid,' she continued.

'I mean, I'm tired all the time, but it's the best kind of tired.'

The former Neighbours star admitted that her obsession with Billy has also infected her AFL star husband Thomas, 36, who is relishing the doting dad role.

'It's the best thing that's ever happened to me,' Olympia, 33, told Daily Mail

'Oh, God. He absolutely adores being a dad. It's my favourite version of him,' she gushed.

'He's so hands-on, so patient. He works incredibly hard, but the second he walks through the door, it's straight into dad mode. It [parenthood] has definitely brought us closer together.'

While clearly relishing motherhood, Olympia revealed one aspect that left her less-than-impressed was the havoc pregnancy played on her skin.

'My skin completely changed when I became pregnant,' she said. 'It was so unpredictable – like, the colouring of my skin changed.'

Olympia added that she quickly realised that one secret to sumptuous skin was to keep it simple.

'I had lots of melasma, my skin was dry and I think I just realised quickly that stripping your skin or doing some of the things that I used to do, overcomplicating it, just made things worse,' she said.

Olympia said that the secret to glowing skin can be unlocked with one word – hydration.

'For me, it was all about layering hydration and keeping that skin barrier happy. So, when your skin is properly hydrated, you look healthier and more glowy and radiant.'

It makes sense, then, that Olympia recently partnered with Hada Labo Tokyo to promote the skincare brand's Skin Plumping Gel.

She said that the partnership made perfect sense, with Billy taking up most of her time.

'Especially since becoming a mum, I just don't really have time for that kind of complicated skincare routine anymore,' she said.

'But I really loved this J-beauty trend that was making its way across Australia. It was simple, it was effective, and it focused on long-term skin health rather than quick fixes.

'I was genuinely excited when the opportunity came.  Their formulas are all about hydration and hydration is the foundation of everything for me,' Olympia added.

When it comes to diet, Olympia said that she strives to provide Billy with the most nourishing meals available, but the schedule of a new mum rarely has time for long lunches.

'It's a little hard to quantify what I would eat in a day because a lot of it is, like Billy's sandwich crust or the dregs of a smoothie,' she laughed.

'But I really try to keep everything simple and nourishing. Once a week I prep all of his food and because I try and make everything healthy, and organic, and valid for Billy, I'm eating very well myself.'

However, Olympia joked, that meal times don't always work out in Thomas' favour.

'Poor Thomas just gets leftovers,' she laughed. 'I used to love cooking big meals like lamb shanks and casseroles, but now I'm like: "If Billy can't eat it, babe, you're not getting it."'

She added: 'It reminds me of that scene in Mean Girls, where the sex-ed teacher was like: "If you have sex, you will get pregnant." It's just not the case.'

Olympia said that while sharing her personal struggles had been painful at times, she felt it necessary to speak out.

'If sharing my journey helps even one woman feel less alone, or encourages someone to ask questions earlier, then I think it's worth it. As I'm getting older, all my friends are kind of at the same point in life as I am. Literally every single person I know has some form of fertility issue.'

Olympia is also a strong advocate for egg freezing, encouraging young women to consider the procedure to gain more reproductive freedom.

'You know, one of the things that I didn't even know was a thing, or I thought it was just a really hard thing to do was freezing your eggs,' she said.

'Every young woman should go and freeze their eggs – I wish I had done that earlier.

'You just have more freedom as a woman. When you get to the point in your life when you are ready to have a kid, you don't have to stop your work, you can have a baby later in life, or you don't have to settle for a dude that isn't a great dude just because you want to have a baby.

She added: 'We all have a ticking clock. 'If we just knew that we had some little eggies in the bank, we could do it whenever we wanted.’
