Suits star Rick Hoffman returns to Instagram after undergoing major transformation with slimmer physique and longer hair

Suits star Rick Hoffman looked unrecogisable as he returned to Instagram after undergoing a major transformation.

Showing off a slimmer physique and longer hair, the actor, 56, wrote: 'Been a min' and hashtag 'circling back.' 

Rick typically had a shaved hair as lawyer Louis Litt for nine seasons of Suits, in which he starred alongside . 

Standing in a trailer, his hair was thicker at the front and sides and he looked smart wearing a white shirt tucked in to grey trousers. 

His former Suits costar Sarah Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen wrote a love heart and fire emoji in the comments.

Rick wrote about how he had achieved his look when replying to a fan who had praised his makeover. 

He said: 'Intense intermittent fasting and keto diet,' adding that he had also cut out alcohol.

Rick has been candid about health concerns he has experienced in the past. 

He told US Weekly: 'At the age of 23, I had the biggest challenge I ever had. I got struck with major anxiety where I would be woken up and I felt like I was jumping out of my skin 24/7 in this nightmare.

'I was diagnosed with OCD, but this was back in 1993 when nobody really knew what the hell that was, and when you see things from a different perspective like that, where you feel like your world is impending doom around the corner every day, you see the world incredibly differently than other people.

'Had I not had that happen, I never would have made it with any career. It was a real quick slingshot through life lesson to really know where you stand on this planet, which is just with everyone else.

Rick spoke about his time on the show to Entertainment Focus in 2016, saying: 'Every season there is some unbelievable conflict that he has to overcome. 

'Every year it's like ‘how the hell am I going to do this as an actor? How the hell am I going to accomplish what they want me to accomplish? 

'It's scary as hell, challenging as hell and then more times as not rewarding as hell when I feel like I'm proud of what's been done.'
