His presence has often been a bad omen for the teams he supports.

But Sir got plenty of satisfaction watching England march into the World Cup semi-finals.

Looking youthful in a striped shirt and white cap, the frontman, 82, saw his team beat Norway 2-1 at the sweltering Miami Stadium with three of his boys.

Sir Mick wiped his brow as temperatures reached 33C in the ground. He was alongside James, 40 – whose mother is ex-wife – and Lucas, 27, whom he had with model . Also present was youngest son Deveraux, nine, whom he had with 38-year-old girlfriend .

Sir Mick was seen throwing his fist in the air when the full-time whistle was blown, before sharing a group hug with his sons.

But many England fans' pulses were sent racing when he appeared on the Saturday night TV coverage with the game very much still in the balance – for the singer is renowned for his 'Jagger Jinx'.

Is superstition like the 'Jagger Jinx' just harmless fun, or can it actually impact team spirit and fans?

What's your view?

The superstition first took hold in 2010 when, in South Africa, every team he publicly supported – including England, the US and Brazil – suffered crushing exits.

It worsened in 2014 when he watched hosts Brazil get dismantled 7-1 by Germany.

The curse struck again four years later when England lost to Croatia in Moscow's semi-final.

This time, England held on – taking another step towards ending 60 years of hurt.
