is a free man after the  District Court threw out drug trafficking charges laid against him.

The former Married At First Sight groom was arrested in 2023 by Serious and Organised  Branch detectives at his Croydon property, where officers allegedly seized almost 1kg of methamphetamine, with a street value worth at least $90,000.

Guilhaus had previously pleaded not guilty to trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

The District Court threw out all of the key evidence in the case last month, saying that SA police had obtained it, 'unlawfully through an impermissible covert surveillance operation', the Adelaide Advertiser reported this week.

Prosecutors have formally withdrawn all charges against the 36-year-old.

The court heard that SA police began surveilling Guilhaus after his name came up during a separate investigation, with lawyers for Guilhaus arguing the resulting search was unlawful, and the judge agreed.

'I find that the search was unlawful and (the officer) did not have a reasonable basis upon which to form a suspicion,' Judge Rauf Soulio said in his ruling.

'The evidence resulting from the search, which was unlawful, should be excluded.'

Speaking outside court on Friday, the OnlyFans star said he now wants to advocate against the dangers of addiction.

'I was in a lot of pain for a very long time. I believed I was defective, and suffered from self-worth issues,' he said.

'Beneath my people-pleasing personality, my smile, my various masks, my bravado was deep insecurity and a lack of self-worth.'

Guilhaus also pointed the finger at the reality series that placed him in the public eye, saying that the attention he gained ultimately had a negative impact.

'After the show, and all external validation, ended, all I looked forward to was a brief moment of peace which illicit substances provided me – at the cost of a totally self-destructive life,' he said.

'Recovery for me is an ongoing thing, an ongoing weekly intervention, and that's important for people to hear. There's no end to recovery. It's about discipline.'

Guilhaus previously worked as a personal trainer before joining subscription-based adult website OnlyFans and launching a career as a porn star

and launching a career as a porn star.

One of his OnlyFans projects was a collaboration with fellow MAFS star , who also transitioned into porn since her stint on the show.

Vernon has since left the adult content industry.

Before his stint on reality television, Guilhaus played 48 games in the South Australian National Football League where he booted 15 goals.

In 2021 he was named one of Adelaide's 'most eligible singles'.
