Screen icon Louise Lasser, known for her starring turn on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman has died aged 87.

Lasser, who was 's second wife and his first leading lady, died Monday of natural causes at her home in Manhattan on the Upper East Side, her best friend, Susan Charlotte, told THR.

Allen married Lasser in 1966, with the workaholic famously performing two stand-up shows on the day of their wedding. 

She acted in several of his early films including Take the Money and Run (1969) and Bananas (1971).

They were married until 1970, with Allen moving onto a romance with actress Diane Keaton. 

Even after their famed divorce, Lasser continued to work with Allen on films, saying, 'I think he's very talented, and really funny, and really serious.'
