Katt Williams is opening up about his first ever movie – 2002’s Friday After Next – revealing he had a rape scene removed that was in the original script.

Williams, 52, appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay, where he revealed that his character Money Mike was actually raped in a bathroom scene.

While Williams admitted that he had no, ‘pull,’ in the movie world, he was still able to convince the studio and the producers to discard the scene.

‘The truth is that Money Mike in the original script got raped in the bathroom and that’s what (co-star) Rickey Smiley was OK with,’ Williams said.

‘Katt Williams had to take the risk in front of the studios and the cast and the powers that be, in his very first movie, and say, “Respectfully, truthfully, humbly, guys, if we’re talking about anything else, I have no credibility and I have no pull. But we’re talking about comedy, where I have all the credibility and all the pull. The problem with Friday After Next is we’re trying to make a classic comedy, and this comedy involves a rape, and rape is never funny, no matter who it happens to or what the circumstances are,’ Williams explained.

He continued, ‘If you would allow me to allow us to do this movie without a Black man getting raped in it, I promise you, that it would be twice as funny than it would be with him getting raped.’

The scene in question featured Williams’ Money Mike being nearly raped in the bathroom by Damon, played by Terry Crews in just his fourth movie role.

While Damon does attempt to rape him, Money Mike ultimately gets the upper hand with the help of a wrench he finds.

Friday After Next was the third movie in the franchise, following the 1995 breakout hit Friday starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker and 2000’s Next Friday.

The first movie was written by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh (who also played Red in the movie), with Cube writing both Next Friday and Friday After Next solo.

Williams also called out Smiley – who played Santa Claus in Friday After Next – who was on Sharpe’s podcast previously.

Smiley claimed that he was originally supposed to play Money Mike and Williams was supposed to play Santa Claus.

‘Your story is that Rickey Smiley who couldn’t even do curse words because he had a Christian fan base, he was gonna play the pimp?’ Williams said.

He continued, 'If you would allow me to allow us to do this movie without a Black man getting raped in it, I promise you, that it would be twice as funny than it would be with him getting raped'

Williams added, ‘Why didn’t you ask him why has he played a woman in more movies than he’s played a man?’

The comedian added that Smiley was ‘bitter’ about not playing the Money Mike role while they were filming, telling ‘everyone’ that was supposed to be his role.

Smiley responded on his radio show that he was in fact slated to play the role of Money Mike, before Williams reportedly blew away the producers with his audition.

Williams most recently played Willy in the FX series Atlanta and he is in pre-production on For the Love of Mine, a follow-up to 2021’s For the Love of Money.
