Bateman's parents, Kent and Victoria, were his managers, so there was added pressure on him to earn as much as possible, maintain a decent GPA for work permits and 'not get fired.'
'It was rough but, as anxiety inducing as that was, there was also this early muscle that I kind of developed where I knew I could generate money,' the eighties teen idol told Vulture's Good One podcast.
'So I was, sort of, not that nervous about spending money because I felt I could replace it.'
Bateman, whose is reportedly $50 million, immediately felt a cultural divide with trust fund kids, who inherited all of their wealth.

'I have got some friends that are incredibly wealthy because their parents were incredibly wealthy,' the Emmy-winning director recalled.
'And they inherited a bunch of money, and they're the tightest people I know because they never... they didn't make that money, and so they feel every dollar out they're not going to be able to get back.'
