Colin From Accounts star Harriet Dyer has revealed what it is really like working with her husband Patrick Brammall on the popular comedy series.

The Aussie actress, 35, co-created the Binge comedy-drama show with her real-life husband Patrick, 48, while they also take on the leading roles of Ashley and Gordon.

The first eight-part series saw their complex characters brought together following a fateful car accident and an injured dog, and it quickly rose to global acclaim.

Colin From Accounts’ much-awaited second series finally premiered on Thursday, and Harriet has now dished on what it is like working with her husband Patrick.

Harriet told how they have had to set boundaries in their marriage after using their own relationship as the inspiration behind the smash hit TV series.

The show sees them write, produce and act together while using their real-life age-gap relationship for laughs, but Harriet admitted they can’t keep using their romance to create good TV.

‘We still laugh a lot and we are also learning to protect our relationship,’ she told Marie Claire Australia.

‘We want to make good television but we are learning to put up some boundaries because in the middle of this is our love and… our union… and we can’t keep shopping that out for the sake of a good TV show.’

However, Harriet said they hardly ever disagree on set and have a ‘shared sensibility’ as she discussed what it is like working and acting alongside Patrick.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, also revealed that they enjoy filming argument scenes because they can get their feelings out without actually being in conflict.

“It’s pretty good actually!” Patrick told Yahoo! Lifestyle of shooting the tense moments.

“You get to let the horses out, let them run, but it’s safe, you know what I mean? It’s not like, “Is this the end of us?” It’s like, “It’s not the end of us, so go for it!”‘

While Harriet agreed, cheekily adding: ‘You so rarely get to argue with someone you’d like to argue with.

‘Most of the people you have an argument on set – like acting – it’s like, “I don’t know you, I’m sure you seem lovely, you’ve never done anything to annoy me!”‘

Colin From Accounts’ second season continues to follow the misadventures of Gordon (Patrick) and Ashley (Harriet), as they navigate life and love in modern day Sydney.
