'The last time I was in front of a camera, I was seven months pregnant with Phoenix, during a #FoodUnwrapped filming day, and, honestly, I never dreamed of stepping back from being on screen.'

The star openly discussed her struggles to fall pregnant with , but she was lucky enough to welcome a second 'miracle child', also a boy, in February of last year at the age of 51.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: 'It was long, exhausting, and utterly devastating at times, but I wouldn't change a single thing given that it all led me here to my two incredible boys… one my heart and the other my soul.'

The mum explained that after a difficult journey to parenthood, it didn't 'feel right' to be apart from her children - even when it meant giving up the career she loved.

She explained: 'After my [first] baby boy arrived, it just didn't feel right to me to be away from him for a single second, even if it meant not doing the thing I loved, something that was sewn into my sense of identity for most of my adult life!

'I never missed a nap, a feed, or a wake-up, and when my second boy, Jett, arrived, I thought it would be a similar story.'

However, when she was recently approached by 'an amazing cause', she decided that the time had finally come to return to the TV studio.

She wrote: 'A few weeks ago Comic Relief reached out, and supporting such an amazing cause was impossible to say no to.... So here I am, feeling all the mum guilt, but also super excited to be part of something so wonderful.

She said: 'I think there are choices you make as a woman, you can choose to do it by yourself, to do it with somebody even if you are not convinced they are the right person. Or you can wait for the right person and then maybe find it is too late...

'We have been together a year-and-a-half. I'm fit, I'm healthy, there are no problems in that sense. So who knows? It's in the hands of the gods.'
