Floyd Roger Myers Jr’s family is determined to make sure his impact is felt for years to come after his death on Wednesday at 42.
In the wake of his death from a heart attack at his home in Maryland early that day, the former Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air star’s mother Renee Trice told TMZ that his ex-wife and children would step forward to continue running the business that he started after saying goodbye to Hollywood.
Although Myers’ considered the family he helped build to be his greatest accomplishment in life, but his second-biggest passion was for his air duct cleaning company, Dr. Duct.
The former actor’s mother said his children were ‘proud’ to take over the work in his place, adding that ‘his business was his heart and now it will be theirs.’
Myers regularly posed with his kids on social media, and in a 2023 post, he captioned a photo of himself cheerfully posing with his family: ‘A lot has changed yet so much has remained the same!!! Family Over Everything!! -MyersGang.’
Myers, who played a young version of Will Smith’s lead character on Fresh Prince, had a brief television career.

In 1992, the same year that he appeared on Smith’s show, he also played a young Marlon Jackson on the miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream.
His final credit was eight years later in 2000 with a part on the series Young Americans.
According to his mother, Myers’ Hollywood dream ended when he was 19, at which point he threw himself into studying business at Clark University in Atlanta, where he received a golf scholarship.
After graduating, Myers worked at a company that made appliances for a decade before taking the plunge by founding his own company, an air duct cleaning business that his family will now continue in his absence.
Trice shared that her son’s body was taken to a funeral home in Maryland on Thursday.
According to her, a church service will be held in Myers’ honor ahead of his cremation, which she says was his ‘final wish.’
Myers’ mother previously told TMZ that his fatal heart attack was not his first, as he had suffered three prior attacks over the past three years.
Trice added that she had just spoken to her son just the night before his sudden death.

Floyd’s professional acting career seemingly came to a pause after 2000 – however he had kept busy and was one of the co-founders of the Fellaship Mens Group, per his Instagram bio.
Fellaship was launched ‘to address the often-overlooked emotional and mental health challenges that men face, Fellaship creates safe, judgment-free spaces for men to be seen, heard, and supported,’ according to the official website.
The late star would often post about the program and its events to his main Instagram page.
Floyd was also candid about his health battles and revealed in 2023 that he had been in a coma.
While uploading a photo of himself in a hospital bed, the star had written in the caption: ‘Just a week ago i was in a coma fighting for my life!!
‘The way my GOD work though. I’m beyond blessed and grateful to be alive !!’ he added.

One penned, ‘That’s sad news so young felt like life still had chapters left for him,’ and another typed, ’42 is far too young… sending love to his family and fans.’
