Most celebrity dogs are spoilt. Surrounded by luxury toys and treats in Hollywood mansions, they lead gilded lives that would make the average mutt weep.

But there is one jet-setting pooch soaring (tiny) head and shoulders above the rest: Demi Moore’s chihuahua Pilaf.

In the last year alone, she has trotted the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, bagged the best seats at the French Open, and appeared on two US talks shows.

At the weekend she joined actor Robert Pattinson and Brooklyn Beckham on the Dior front row for Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.

And so, a star is born. Named after the Indian rice dish (although at 1.5lb, she’s barely bigger than a handful of grains), Pilaf is a constant companion to the 61-year-old actress.

While the Ghost star has nine dogs in total, she is rarely seen without this entitled ball of caramel and cream fur.

At Cannes last month, Pilaf even threatened to eclipse her owner as, with tongue lolling and beady eyes narrowed to shield against the sun — or perhaps to express her scorn for the little people — she tolerated the endless flashbulbs at a screening of Demi’s new film The Substance.

‘She is a treasure. She’s like my little extra heart,’ Demi said recently. ‘I usually have her in a little sling. We go everywhere together.’

And when Pilaf travels, she does so in the literal lap of luxury. In her short three years of life, she has lounged aboard superyachts in the Med, posed poolside on the French Riviera for a swimwear shoot and soaked up the local colour on a Greek island tour.

At Ascot last summer, Pilaf looked very at home in the Royal Enclosure while Demi quaffed bubbles in a chic Emilia Wickstead dress, and she also lapped up the chance to watch Rafael Nadal beat his own record to win the French Open for the 14th time in 2022.

No stranger to fashion — favouring a jaunty hat, sporting miniature trilbies, straw boaters and even Stetsons — Pilaf is often on the front row at couture catwalk shows.

In September, the pooch was taking style notes at Versace in Milan and last month, the Gucci Cruise show at the Tate Modern.

And what female doesn’t love a bit of bling, too? Lucky Pilaf was given a diamond dog collar by jewellery brand Chopard last month.

‘The truth is, I am her accessory,’ Demi gushed to American TV host Stephen Colbert on The Late Show earlier this year.

She explained how she tried to secure her treasured pup a Guinness World Record for her minuscule stature.

‘We looked into this because she literally is the size of a guinea pig,’ the actress said. Sadly, Pilaf’s legs were too long.

That same week, she went on to appear on Good Morning America and attended a Madonna concert in New York, although the latter outing attracted criticism from dog lovers.

‘Why the hell do you take a tiny pup to a loud concert? That is not enjoyable for them. Get a grip Demi,’ one critic said.

But it’s not all superficial larks for Pilaf. She has an eye for culture and recently saw Tom Holland in his West End production of Romeo & Juliet.

‘She was quite moved,’ Demi said. ‘She thought the performance was extraordinary, as it was.’

And Pilaf was pictured musing on the genius of Leonardo da Vinci while taking in the Mona Lisa on a private tour of the Louvre.

In French law, animals are banned from the building, but rules are for other people, right, Pilaf?

Frankly, she makes most human lives seem insignificant, nay pathetic. So it’s no surprise that Pilaf now has her own Instagram account — apparently a necessity for any pet these days.

So far, this micro-influencer only has 23,400 followers — compared to her owner’s five million — but experts predict little Pilaf could be in for a six-figure payday if Demi ever decides to cash in on her appeal with endorsements from pet companies.

‘In case anyone forgot, it’s Pilaf’s world and we’re just living in it,’ Demi wrote on social media. It’s hard to disagree.
