She opened up in a May appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark about how Adams has encouraged her to embrace the stage role.
‘I don’t do the Ellen Greene accent from the film … and my husband was asking me on the phone, “Hey, how do you do it? Like, do it for me!”‘ Hyland said. ‘So I gave him a little preview, over the phone, of the accent.’
She noted that Adams responded with ‘the wildest reaction [she] could have imagined’ and told her that her doing the role was ‘going to be very sexual for’ him.
