Chris Evans

Christopher Robert Evans, born June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American actor who achieved iconic status as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role he inhabited for over a decade across eleven films and which made him one of the most beloved characters in the history of franchise filmmaking. Growing up in Sudbury, Massachusetts, in a creative family — his mother Lisa is an artistic director — Evans was drawn to performing from childhood, attending the Lee Strasberg Theatre summer program and taking every school theater opportunity. He built early credits in Not Another Teen Movie (2001) and the Fantastic Four franchise (2005, 2007) before his casting as Steve Rogers / Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), a role he accepted despite deep personal reluctance about committing to a multi-picture deal.
