and his wife Ayda shared a glimpse of their idyllic family weekend in a new Instagram post, after the singer was forced to deny he was 'off his nut' at the World Cup final.

When Robbie was interviewed at the World Cup Final last Sunday night, fans spotted something white falling from what appeared to be his nostril.

The singer, 52, performed during the opening ceremony of the game, but later, when he was chatting to pundits, fans spotted something white fall onto the microphone before the star quickly removed it and then stuck it onto his forehead.

Robbie first poked fun at the viral clip in an Instagram apology on Monday when he explained it was a mint that fell out of his mouth – and the star has now revealed the post has reached 27million views.

And after the huge reaction to the clip, the singer once again took to social media on Thursday, as he confirmed it was specifically a Nicorette mint that fell out of his mouth, as he said: 'People think I was off my nut,' adding: 'I wasn't.'

He continued to brush off the talk around the incident as he enjoyed a fun-filled weekend with his family, in moments captured and shared to his and Ayda's social media.

The happy couple shared a sweet snap of them holding their children's hands from behind during a stroll

Robbie and Ayda both looked incredible as they posed for a glamorous snap in a vineyard.

The singer cut a stylish figure in a white blazer and jeans, while his doting wife stunned in a black maxi dress.

This was followed by a sweet snap of the couple holding hands with their children from behind as they went for a stroll.

Elsewhere, the couple showed off another stylish outfit as they posed on the terrace, along with more snaps of their fun days out.

Robbie's full explanation read: 'I think I reached peak me at the World Cup. To have a Nicorette fall out of my mouth during a live interview...and then stick to my forehead...is the most me thing I've ever done.

'I had absolutely no idea it was there until the following day. The fake apology has now had over 27million views. The whole MintGate thing has reached 51million people.

'I've managed not to read too many comments, which is probably why I'm finding the whole thing genuinely funny'

Robbie put on a vibrant display in a sequin blue Adidas tracksuit for his World Cup performance and one fan noted the look was eerily similar to the tracksuit worn by mobster Paulie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri in the  series The Sopranos, which aired from 1999 to 2007.

He took to social media on Thursday to confirm it was a Nicorette mint that fell out of his mouth and said: 'People think I was off my nut,' adding: 'I wasn't'

Commenting on the comparison, Robbie continued: 'The Paulie Walnuts memes have been magnificent.

'It wouldn't feel right if I appeared on the world stage and absolutely nothing weird happened. One and a half billion people were watching.

'For someone whose nervous system is permanently convinced we're moments away from disaster, I'm quite proud that none of it was visible on my face.

'Well... apart from the Nicorette. The old me did briefly surface today though.

'These amateurs think I wouldn't have crushed that powder until it was as fine as Bahamian sand?' Please. I'm not new.

'And now the internet has another thing it'll be 100% certain happened. 'Remember when Robbie was off his nut at the World Cup?' I wasn't. I'm not. And I haven't been for a very long time. But that's showbusiness. And so it goes.

'The funniest part? Straight after singing with Laura and Nicole, I kept saying to everyone, 'No one died and I didn't cause an international incident. We did it!'

'Cue someone saying, 'Will you come and do this little interview? It won't take long.' Me being me is very on brand. There'll be plenty more. I am inevitable.

'Anyway... I'm off to continue ageing in public. See you at the next misunderstanding. Namaste, Robert.'

Meanwhile, the singer is the leading contender to headline Glastonbury after he announced his 2027 UK and Ireland tour.

The music superstar will play an RW27 headline show in the Irish city of Limerick at the Thomond Park Stadium on July 6 and bring his incredible live show to Lytham Festival 2027 in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire on July 3.

The new Irish date follows the huge success of Robbie's sold-out headline show at Dublin's Croke Park last summer.

Robbie once again took to social media on Thursday, as he confirmed it was a Nicorette mint that fell out of his mouth and he said: 'People think I was off my nut'

Spokesman for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: 'We've put him straight in at even-money to headline any night on the Pyramid Stage at next year's festival, which puts him right on the shoulder of Harry Styles, who has been backed into 4/6 favourite.'

On Monday Robbie appeared to poke fun at the incident as he explained it was a mint that fell from his mouth and apologised for being 'deeply unprofessional'.

He penned: 'Just woke up and feeling…. Mint.'

Pretending to be serious in the video he told fans: 'I would just like to apologise for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday.

'It was deeply unprofessional and people worried about me. But it's okay because I had several more.'

Robbie then opened his mouth to reveal several mints in his mouth.
