Because after he lambasted them for their matchday fashion choices, the WAGs have hit back, describing the former Manchester United star as 'miserable'.
Sources say they have vowed to carry on showing their support by wearing the football shirts, as some did last night as England took on Panama in their last group match.

A friend of some of the WAGs said: 'They are adamant they will wear whatever they want.
'Why should they let someone like Roy Keane tell them otherwise? He's a miserable old git.
'The girls love to show support for their partners by wearing their names on their back, or at least an England shirt. It's a case of go away, grandad.

'Some of them ignored it, some have been giggling at why they wind him up so much.'
Keane made the comments on Gary Neville's podcast The Overlap, when he was asked what he would like to put in Room 101 – meaning it would no longer exist.

'Oh, the jersey?' he said. 'The World Cup, when all the players' wives and families are going to the match, all the wives are in the jerseys with the players' names on the back, wow.
'Children is fine, but the wives and partners wearing their jerseys with their name on the back, wow.
'A year later they are separated, most of them. And they're all getting pictures, and they're pointing at a Jimmy or Johnny on the back, wow. We know who you are married to.'

It has been a busy week of sightseeing and partying in New York for many of the WAGs, who were out in force last night at the MetLife stadium in New Jersey.
Ms Watkins was seen in a Manhattan bar with her sister Sofia, while Megan Pickford, wife of goalkeeper Jordan, documented her week on social media.
Mrs Pickford last night showed her defiance after Keane's comments by wearing a red England shirt to cheer on her husband of six years.

Oi ref, what's with the Joanie shoulder-pads?
It was the look that defined a decade: when she enthralled global TV audiences as scheming Alexis Carrington in US soap Dynasty.
In the 1980s, you could barely walk down the street without having to swerve around oh-so-fashionable women wearing shoulder pads. And now they are back – courtesy of the World Cup, and the men (and women) in the middle.
No longer is the referee armed simply with a whistle and a watch. In these technological days, under their jerseys, the refs wear a vest to hold battery packs, wireless radio transmitters and microphones to communicate with assistant referees and the dreaded VAR hub. Much of the equipment is strapped to the upper arms or chest to keep the officials' hands free – and that gives rise to the shoulder-pad effect.
It's become quite the thing online – with fans asking why officials look 'jacked' or ready to play American football.
Or like Ms Collins all those years ago, ready to go into battle against her arch-rival Linda Evans.

Lily's fans go into extra time
Lily Allen wasn't taking any chances last night – screening the England game for fans after her gig last night.
The singer performed her West End Girl world tour at London's O2 Arena where her audience could watch the game, which kicked off at 10pm, as soon as she finished her concert.
A source said: 'Maybe she thought her fans would ditch her and not turn up so they could watch the match. Or that they would sneak out early.'
Harry Styles made no mention of England versus Croatia, which took place while he played a gig at Wembley Stadium.
