WAGs Share Favorite Moments as England Returns Home

England WAGs Ellie Watkins and Tolami Benson have shared their favourite World Cup moments as the Three Lions arrive home after their best result since 1966.

On Sunday,  lifted the trophy in the final match against Argentina after a deserved 1-0 victory.

The Three Lions fell short of winning football's ultimate prize for the first time since 1966 after losing their semi-final 2-1 to Argentina on Wednesday, but restored pride with a thrilling 6-4 win over in the bronze final.

Their victory in the Sunshine State meant they secured their best World Cup performance since their triumph 60 years ago. 

Since the end of the World Cup, the WAGs have been taking to their social media with adorable photo dumps from their time supporting their men on the pitch.

' wife Ellie shared a series of sweet moments from the games, including loved-up snaps with her husband in the stands.

'Proud of you always no matter what. Thank you for the memories,' she penned alongside the post.

Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka's fiancée Tolami shared snaps of her stylish outfit for the game.

'England, always,' she captioned the dump.

John Stones' wife Olivia posted several loved-up photos of them together, writing: 'So proud of this wonderful man. No matter the outcome.'

After their heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Argentina, England were hoping to end the tournament on a positive note, and they certainly did by earning a bronze medal in a thrilling 6-4 win.

It took just three minutes before Declan Rice inked his name on the scoresheet with a curving effort from distance, with Ezri Konsa adding a second 15 minutes later.

Bukayo saw a goal chalked off for offside before he scored his first in the 37th minute, and bagged his brace one minute into added time before the break.

It will come as no surprise that some WAGs marked the end of England's World Cup journey after their semi-final loss.

But Megan said it was the 'end of the dream' as she placed each of her children's shirts back in the wardrobe, including her own which says Pickford on the back.

Her son Arlo, seven, and daughters, Ostara Haze, three, and Misty Celine, 15 months, each wore red shirts with 'daddy' printed on the back.

Following their semi-final loss, England and head coach Thomas Tuchel came under heavy scrutiny for failing to capitalise on taking the lead in the 55th minute.

England will have to watch the final from afar after playing against France - a game Tuchel has said no one wants to play.

'None of our players and none of the French players want to play this match,' the German said. 'They want to play the final. We gave everything to achieve that.

'Everyone plays to win the World Cup, but that's how it is. We have one less day of recovery than France, but we will do it with professionalism.'

Tuchel also tore into his side after the Argentina loss, claiming it is a national problem rather than one of his own.

'In this moment my feeling was no structure in the world could have helped us,' Tuchel said. 

'Because actually we were too passive and we were not physical enough, we didn't stop runners arriving in our box and the deliveries were wrong too.

'I haven't seen the data yet, but I think just right after the goal the momentum swings completely and ball possession drops dramatically. 

'We couldn't find any duels anymore; that's why we dropped deeper and deeper. It was never the plan, but it happened.'
