She might've come off second best after an encounter on live TV with a cranky crustacean, but Taylor Haynes got her revenge this week.

The Today show weather presenter had to be hospitalised on Friday after she was set upon by a giant crab during a live cross at the Fish Markets.

However, Taylor turned the tables on Monday, revealing that she had the last laugh... and bite.

When host Michael Atkinson threw to the first weather cross of the morning, he found Taylor sitting at a table at Sydney Olympic Park about to devour her breakfast.

Her morning repast consisted of a bowl overflowing with crabs as well as a martini glass filled with crab legs for good measure.

'Look, justice is being served this morning, Australia. I'd like to introduce you to my breakfast, if not my revenge,' she said with her fingers still bandaged.

'Do you recognise this bad boy in front of me? Because I definitely do. We are being reunited under very different circumstances this morning.'

Showing no remorse for her revenge act, Taylor added: 'It had a great crack at me the other day, so I thought I'd have the last bite.'

A clip of Taylor's revenge was uploaded to the Today show Instagram page and viewers flooded the comments section, with many wishing the reporter well.

'So relieved you're recovering well Taylor and still got all your fingers,' one viewer wrote. 'Luckily it wasn't a mud crab. You're the best, love watching your segments!!'

Another chimed in with a similar: 'So glad you're ok, and happy to see you having the last bite. Girl power right there.'

A third summed up the sentiment of many with: 'What a legend! Good on you for getting on with the job, it must have hurt!'

It wasn't all praise, however, with some viewers calling Taylor's revenge act 'distasteful.'

'You antagonised an animal and then thought this was funny. I thought you were just a TV bimbo but actually you are much more distasteful. Shame it didn’t bite harder,' one angry commenter wrote.

However, Taylor turned the tables on Monday, revealing that she had the last laugh, and bite with a hearty breakfast of crab. 'Look, justice is being served this morning, Australia. I'd like to introduce you to my breakfast, if not my revenge,' she said

Following the shock incident, Taylor took to Instagram to give followers an update on her injuries. She shared a carousel of images that recalled the ordeal with the cranky crustacean as well as a photo that showed Taylor sitting in a hospital waiting room.

'Miraculously, it’s not broken, just very bruised and swollen. I’ll take that as a win,' she wrote

The ordeal unfolded on Friday as Taylor was taking viewers on a tour of the Sydney Fish Markets in Glebe when she stopped at a tank filled with live crustaceans.

To her delight, a worker named Mike emerged with a giant crab and placed it in her arms, prompting her to bend down and place a kiss on its head.

Unfortunately, things quickly went pear-shaped when the crab retaliated by grabbing her finger with its huge pincer.

'Ahh! It's got my finger! He's got my finger... oh god!' she screamed, sending Today's hosts into hysterics.

Taylor was still struggling to remove her finger from the crab's grasp when the segment awkwardly ended.

She made another appearance later in the program with her hand submerged in a cup of cold water.

'I'm still in shock. It did take a good while (to remove my hand from the crab),' she said, adding: 'But I will be going to hospital after this.'
