When Donna Kelce was asked about her son's wedding, she said she couldn't say 'a heck of a lot except it was magical, man, magical.'

's new 73-year-old mother-in-law was one of around 1,000 guests who covertly piled into Madison Square Garden on Friday to watch marry the pop megastar.

, obtained by the Daily Mail, showed a venue transformed into a whimsical garden with a giant chapel covered with trees and rose bushes - no trace of the plastic seats and bland wooden paneling familiar to those who regularly watch basketball and hockey games in the 20,000-seat arena.

Instead, guests were ushered up a coral-colored staircase and funneled through a series of passages adorned with ethereal drapes and never-before-seen photos of the couple, before reaching the ceremony through a soaring archway as Candi Staton's Young Hearts Run Free played in the background.

was said to be the first to appear, ready to officiate on the big day. He was followed by Swift, 36, dressed in Christian Dior haute couture, and flanked by her new nieces – the daughters of Kelce's brother Jason and wife Kylie – who threw petals as the bride walked towards her groom to an instrumental version of her hit song, Love Story.

The $50 million spectacle featured a who's who of the entertainment world partying into the early hours, performances from 's and Sir , along with NDAs and surrender of phones being the order of the day.

So, it's no surprise that, who brought up their son in a modest, middle-class suburb in Ohio, found the extravaganza somewhat 'overwhelming.'

'Almost all of them have seen Taylor in concert or have been around her,' one insider told the Daily Mail. 'They've had three years to get used to Taylor's world. But they've never seen anything like the spectacle of MSG [Madison Square Garden]. It was a lot.'

After all, the public interest that has come from welcoming Swift into the family has been a tough adjustment, something Donna has previously described as 'very surreal.'

On the day, Kelce, 36, who like his new wife was also dressed in Dior, was said to be slightly 'nervous' at the altar.

'He kept it together,' said one guest. 'And there was a lot of tear drying because Taylor looked tearful during a part in the vows where he promised to protect her forever.'

'Graham Norton was actually one of the people everyone wanted to go up and speak to,' one insider told us

The ceremony was more conservative compared to the raucous-sounding rehearsal dinner, which saw Dunham reportedly quip during her speech that 'American football is just straight guys reenacting gay porn'

Gigi Hadid was among the guests at the wedding

'Everyone who was at the big party had to sign a release for legal reasons as they entered,' said an insider. 'No one refused. It might be just for her and Travis to remember their special night. Or it might be for something else.'

The source said that the multi-day extravaganza left the couple 'exhausted,' adding that 'there was no official party on Saturday night.'

Instead, Swift's Falcon 7X private jet landed in Connecticut on Saturday, sparking speculation that the newlyweds were set to unwind at High Watch, her $17 million Rhode Island mansion. Lights were most certainly on in the house that evening with a handful of people spotted inside as a security guard stood watch at the front.

It seems, however, that Swift will soon be back to work. Some people who have worked with the singer on previous albums have reportedly been asked to 'start working on concepts for videos in August.'

Meanwhile, the 14-time Grammy winner has been documenting in her lyrics.

'Taylor has been working on a new album,' said one insider. 'She is a prolific writer so was documenting all of her experiences while planning the wedding. The proposal was a surprise to her and capturing the moment is important to her so it would be crazy not to share how she feels.'
