Scarlett opened up about her four-year fertility journey before she welcomed her son Jude in June 2023, as well as suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage in late 2024.

Scarlett opened up about the miscarriage to Sinitta as she shared the couple were 'mourning a life' they had imagined.

She said: 'After Jude was born, we tried again and got quite far on and miscarried and it was just... I remember Scott's mum and dad took Jude for the day, and me and Scott just laid in bed crying.

'You imagine them running downstairs at Christmas together. You like... imagine it, you know. It is hard. It's awful.'

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Scarlett added: 'When you lose a baby in that way, you're sort of mourning a life that you imagined. It's just really sad.'

She was later seen saying to : 'We have to just be so grateful that we've got ours, do you know what I mean?'

Sharing the journey she went on to welcome Jude, Scarlett said: 'Me and Scott, we tried for four years to have Jude, it took so long.

'And then the day we found out I was pregnant, the day after we were going to a fertility clinic.

'That happens to loads of people. I think it's because you feel like not stressed but because you think it's going to get sorted.

'I feel like then when you have one kid, everyone goes to you: "Are you having another?"

'And I always feel like going: "I would love to but it just sometimes doesn't work out that way". Happy that I just have this one.'

Scarlett also discussed her struggle to conceive on ’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast.

The former Gogglebox star added: 'I’ve been with Scott for nearly five years. We were trying for a long time. I think a lot of women do this.

'I self-diagnosed myself, like, "Maybe I can’t have children, because it isn’t happening"'

Scarlett explained: 'We booked to see a fertility doctor to check to see that everything was OK.

'That was for November, and on my birthday in October I remember blowing my birthday candles out and wishing that it would happen, like, ‘I really wish that I could have a baby’.

After speaking about her fertility problems in the South African desert back when it was filmed in September 2025, Scarlett had no idea she would be announcing her pregnancy months later

'Then two weeks later I found out that I was pregnant. It was a nice feeling emailing the fertility doctor, cancelling the appointment.'

Scarlett, who rose to fame with her family on Channel 4's Gogglebox, previously declared she won't be having more children after miscarrying.

To her own surprise, Scarlett couldn't be happier ahead of welcoming a new addition to their growing family.

She last year: 'We had a miscarriage after Jude. It happened quite late on. We had told people [about the pregnancy] and we were really excited.

'We had talked about what life would be like, how they would run down the stairs together as siblings at Christmas, so you mourn the loss of that and the life you imagined.'

Scarlett continued to explain to The Sun: 'I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: "I just don't think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop. We've got Jude, so let's enjoy him".

'Anyone that goes through that, my heart breaks for them, and I just think it's so brave when people then continue the journey because it is soul-destroying.'

Scarlett had previously opened up on her traumatic birth with Jude, sharing how she had 'significant blood loss' during labour.

Speaking on Loose Women last year, she said: 'One of the things I really didn't want when you do a birthing plan was a blood transfusion but I lost, like yeah, I think it was like one and a half litres of blood.

'So I was really woozy, and I said [to my husband] "Please go with him" [the baby] and then he had hypoglycemia.

'He had low blood sugars, he had jaundice, and I sort of wheeled myself down to NICU and Scott was like "What are you doing woman, get in bed".'

Following Jude's early arrival, Scarlett expressed her gratitude for Neonatal Intensive Care Units on Instagram.

Scarlett said: 'It's NICU awareness month. Some of you may know Jude was my little miracle baby, who surprised us super early at just 35 weeks and 5 days, a whole month early.

'I'm always so grateful to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Durham hospital for all their help & support during that time, especially Helen (pictured here) and Charlotte!

'We honestly can’t believe we’re writing this…', she wrote in her announcement post on Instagram

'That's why I’m so happy to be partnering with @waterwipes who have launched their fifth annual Pure Foundation Fund, which gives you the chance to thank individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond for babies born prematurely or admitted into the NICU.'

The TV personality got engaged to ex-policeman Scott in 2023 just months after welcoming their son.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Scarlett revealed Scott has given up his career to be a stay-at-home dad.

She explained: 'I feel really lucky because for the first two years that Jude was born, I decided to take two years off. So I was just in full-time mum mode, it was the best.

'And then when Jude turned two, I was like "okay, I need to go back into work now" so I can chat to adults, cause I missed that.

'And also, you know, this industry's so difficult, I knew that if I took any longer people might be like, "oh, there's that girl that used to sometimes be on the telly".

'So then Scott, my partner, he's wonderful, he's now took a two-year career break from the police. So he's now in full-time dad mode, which is lovely. We're somehow managing because of that, and we've got great grandparents too.'
