said she 'wanted to run' when she first met 's**t-faced' Jamie and revealed the huge wake-up call she gave him in a new documentary.

Titled Untold: , it tells the story of how the footballer, 39, defied the odds by climbing eight tiers of English football in just six years.

It also gives a glimpse into his relationship with Rebekah, 44, who he credits for saving his football career by forcing him to stop heavy drinking.

In the documentary - the first of two coming out this year about the couple - the WAG explained how she was at first reluctant to date Jamie due to footballers being 'all a***holes'.

She said: 'I just came out of a not-a-great relationship. I'd had a little boy, and I was working at a nightclub in Sheffield, and I had a call from someone who said, "I've got a birthday party I need you to organise. Can't tell you who it is at the minute."

'At which point I'm thinking, "Oh, for God's sake." You know, car crash. I find out it was Jamie Vardy, and I was like, "What's the big deal?"

'I didn't even know who he was at that point. But when I learnt that Jamie was a professional sports player, it made me want to run the other direction very quickly.

'There's this kind of preconception that they're all idiots, they're all a***holes.

'So, Jamie's birthday came round, and sure enough, Jamie rocks in s**t-faced. He had one friend on each side holding him up basically.

'And I'm thinking, "Oh my God."

'The next thing I see is his friend's ordering big bottles of champagne. They're now out on the dance floor, tipping them over other members of the public.

'I'm actually f***ing over this now. Like, these group of lads are not a normal group of lads. They're like mental cases. They are yobs.

'Wes Morgan's on the dance floor with this bottle of champagne, pouring into anyone's mouth that would be willing.

'The next thing I see is Jamie being literally carried out of the club by two of his friends.

'And I was like, "Oh, thank God for that. At least one down."'

'Later that evening I got a text message from Jamie saying, "I really want to see you," and I was like, "Nah, delete."

She continued: 'Jamie kept messaging me. And it was relentless, then it was calling. I'd responded a couple of times saying, "Look just forget about it."

'He just would not leave me alone.'

'It got to the point where I was like, "Oh, f*** it. Just respond, go meet him, and then that'll be the end of it."

'And the more I sat with him, the more I realised that actually, behind this crazy, alcohol-loving wild, party boy, was actually a guy that was really kind, was really good at listening, and he was really good to talk to.

'We decided to go on a couple more dates, see what happens.'

Within three months of dating, Rebekah fell pregnant with their first child.

But ahead of her first scan, Jamie went missing on a '36-hour bender,' which led to her giving him a wake up call

While his friends questioned her intention with the footballer due to the speed of their relationship, the WAG said that the pregnancy 'wasn't planned.'

She explained: 'We decided that, you know, we were gonna give it a real go. But he kept getting really, really drunk. Every weekend, disappearing.

'I had a scan coming up and couldn't get hold of him. Nowhere to be seen. So I called John Morris, and I was like, "John, go and find him. I need to speak to him."

John revealed in the documentary that Jamie had gone out on a '36-hour bender with The Inbetweeners,' his oldest friends.

Recalling the night, a member of the Inbetweener's said: 'We were all sat in his local pub having a drink.

'And we were round a table downstairs, and then she [Rebekah] just stormed in out of nowhere.

'Her face was thunder,' another added.

'I went, "You, me, conversation now,"' Rebekah recalled.

'He moved faster than he did on the field,' Jamie's friend quipped.

Rebekah explained how she called him in front of everyone at the local pub and asked What was going on?'

'I knew I could tell her anything and it was never too much for her,' Jamie said.

Rebekah continued: 'He really started to open up then about why he behaved the way he did. He was like, "I've got all this pressure on me now because, you know, they've spent all this money.

"And I just don't think I can live up to those expectations." And I'm like, "Why do you doubt yourself so much?

"You have an incredible opportunity to do something really special." I was like, "How do you feel about that?"

'And he goes, "Oh, it's probably never gonna work." He said he'd always been rejected and been told he wasn't good enough.

'And so, naturally, we do start to believe that's true. But I said to him, "You are gonna screw up everything that you've worked so bloody hard for if you don't change your lifestyle choices."

'I'm not telling you to stop drinking. I'm just telling you to rein it in.'

Rebekah told of how Jamie managed to 'turn it around in quite a short space of time' which Jamie said was '100 per cent what I needed'

The TV personality admitted that she was forced to intervene and credits the tough conversation for saving the footballer's career

Rebekah told of how Jamie managed to 'turn it around in quite a short space of time' which Jamie said was '100 per cent what I needed.'

Their first daughter, Sofia, was born in 2014 and the couple went on to wed at a lavish ceremony at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire in 2016.

Wedding guests included One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, rapper Tinchy Stryder, Leicester City fan Sergio Pizzorno of rock band Kasabian and Vardy's Leicester City team-mates.

But many of her husband's close family stayed away, with Rebekah blamed for causing a rift between Jamie and his mother Lisa and stepfather Phil, who did not attend their wedding.

Jamie's daughter Ella, then five, was kept away from the nuptials by his former girlfriend Emma Daggett. Rebekah's mother, Alison Nicholson, was also not in attendance.

Rebekah and Jamie then welcomed their second child, son Finlay, in January 2017.

On December 28, 2020 - the pair had their third child together, daughter Olivia.

In addition to the three kids she has with Jamie, Rebekah has two children, Megan, 17, and Taylor, 11, from her previous relationships. Jamie has since adopted Megan.

Rebekah is also a step-mum to Ella, 11 - Jamie's daughter from a previous relationship with Emma Daggett.
