Reality Star Faces Backlash for Controversial Video

A former Australian star has been slammed after she uploaded two videos asking people in the street to 'describe black people' with 'one word'.

Angelique Nguyen, who appeared on Beauty and the Geek in 2022, shared two separate clips of the bizarre interviews to Instagram on Thursday and Friday.

In them, she could be seen performing vox pops with people in the street, asking them: 'What's one word you would use to describe black people?' 

Followers flocked to the comments to slam the budding influencer for creating the videos, labelling them 'weird'. 

'Why would you even ask a question like that?' asked a third.

While someone else commented: 'This is so odd.'

'This is just weird,' one user said.

Another simply wrote: 'Ew.'

'How r black ppl any different to any other person? Why are we asking this question?' someone else pointed out.

One vile commenter wrote the word 'gorilla' beneath the video, appearing to answer Angelique's question in the video.

The former reality TV star, 25, responded to the remark with a series of laughing emojis. 

Daily Mail has reached out to Angelique for comment.

Angelique appeared as a contestant on Beauty and the Geek in 2022, where she became popular for her zany character and would tell people she was an 'alien'.  

'I'm eccentric, I'm not the typical, big-booby beauty. I feel like I'm a rainbow gem that has yet to be discovered,' she told 9Now at the time.
