Dina Taji Claims She Rescued Abandoned £2k Dog

' ex Dina Taji has claimed she's rescued the £2,000 dog he purchased with his wife , after he was 'abandoned' at a pet-sitter.

Last month, Katie sparked concern when it was revealed she'd purchased the male pomsky with Lee, despite coming under fire for her treatment of animals in the past.

The Daily Mail revealed in January, Lee took out a £200,000 mortgage in Dina's name without her knowledge. She then took legal action against him, resulting in Lee being slapped with a travel ban from . 

Dina has now taken to Instagram to reveal she rescued Lee and Katie's dog after finding it had been dumped at a pet-sitter, with sources since saying that Katie is desperately trying to reunite with the animal and have it brought over to the UK

It came as it was reported that Lee, 42, was put behind bars once again just a month after his release from Dubai prison Al Awir, yet is 'bragging' he is set for release as he has raised the £120,000 fine he was faced with.

Posting snaps of the dog on the Instagram page for her cat rescue shelter @dubaistreetkitties, Dina wrote: 'Had to pick this dog up and keep him safe.'

Dina then shared a video where she appeared to reference Lee's re-arrest, saying: 'I want to hear your opinion of this dog I brought home because I'm getting a lot of messages and I'm starting to learn a lot of things that I didn't know before.'

She did not mention Lee by name, and described him as 'this person' before adding: 'I thought, ''I need to save this dog now this person is in jail.'''

Dina added that she had received messages asking her to send the dog to the UK, but said that she didn't know the person, believed to be Katie, well enough to do so. 

'I'm always gonna do what's best for the animal and the person who wants me to send the dog to the UK I don't know them,' she said.

'So, all of this information I'm starting to receive I need to investigate it. I need to understand what is going on.

'We need to make sure that these are reliable people that are not going to neglect, abuse, or abandon the pet.'

Dina then shared in a comment that the dog had been 'abandoned with a pet sitter.'

She said: 'I do not have any contact with that person what so ever and I never will. I just wanted to make sure the dog was safe after I heard what happened.'

Sources have since shared that Katie is determined to have the dog brought over to the UK.

Katie was previously criticised by animal welfare charity PETA after it was revealed she and Lee had purchased the dog. 

In a statement shared with the Daily Mail, PETA UK's Senior Vice President Mimi Bekhechi has blasted the star for reaching a 'new low' in acquiring the pet, and repeated calls for Katie to be banned from owning animals.

Katie's treatment of animals has come under scrutiny after five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon all died while in her care - many of them in traffic accidents near her home in Sussex.

Katie attributes these tragedies to 'bad luck,' with most occurring while she was away. She has since secured the garden of her new home to ensure her pets' safety.

Dina and Katie have previously met for a 'woman to woman' chat, after Lee was arrested and imprisoned on suspicion of fraud.

Dina has refused to talk publicly about Lee's underhand tactics, but after Katie got in touch, she agreed to meet up with the former Loose Women star to warn her about staying with her husband, who is currently locked up in a Dubai prison.

On Friday, it was revealed that Lee's father Peter has been thrown in the same jail as his son.

In yet another twist in the businessman's own legal saga, Peter was brought to officials' attention by a third party, The Sun claims.

A source said: 'Both Lee and his dad are now behind bars, in the same prison. Lee maintains his innocence, and is hoping to pay off his outstanding debts and get out of that hell hole as quickly as possible.' 

'He is trying to raise the collateral to get him out of the country, and return to the UK where he hopes to start his life afresh.' 

'Whether poor Katie will be there to greet him on the other side remains to be seen. Right now she is furious with it all, and fed up with all the drama and white noise her husband is bringing. Friends are urging her to leave him.'

Lee was released from prison last month, but last week was re-arrested in Dubai.

He is said to have gone in on Tuesday morning, yet is 'bragging' he is set for release as he has raised the £120,000 fine he was faced with.

A source revealed that Lee had told a pal: 'They’ve arrested me. Katie might need to bail me out. We need to make a noise with a GoFundMe.'

They added to The Sun: 'Lee had been stressed out in the days leading up to his arrest as he needed to raise money he believed he owed.'

Katie is currently in the UK after the release of her Sky documentary earlier this week and an appearance on This Morning where she continued to defend her marriage.

It hasn't been an easy few months for the couple, after he was released from Al Awir prison four weeks ago where he was detained due to fraud allegations, although he insists he was captured at gunpoint after being suspected of espionage.

In an Instagram post, Lee continued to insist there is 'not one shred of evidence' that he has been charged with fraud, hitting out at his ex fiancée Alana for spreading the story.

He claimed he was 'taken to the Qatar border by the men, at gunpoint and was captured by men with assault rifles' before adding: 'They did slap me round a little bit, little s***s.'

Lee has also been accused by multiple exes of conning them, most recently being accused of taking £5,000 from a 'vulnerable woman' in another alleged scam.

He has denied being involved in any cons.

Lee then set the internet alight when he seemingly disappeared into thin air, after Katie initially claimed he had been kidnapped. It then emerged Lee was being held at Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison.
