Charlotte and her younger brother Christopher, 52, are the children of Pierce's late first wife, Cassandra Harris. Pierce adopted Cassandra's two children after their father, Dermot Harris died in 1986.
Cassandra later died of ovarian cancer in 1991, which left the siblings without their biological parents. Before Cassandra's death, she and Pierce welcomed their biological son, Sean, 41, in 1983.
Charlotte welcomed two children of her own, Isabella and Lucas, with her partner Alex Smith.

But Charlotte died just weeks after marrying Alex in 2013 from the same cancer her mother had.
Isabella has remained largely out of the public eye over the years and has appeared to have kept a strong bond with her father, Alex.
Pierce has rarely spoken about Cassandra and Charlotte since their tragic passing, but he did at the Stand Up To Cancer telethon in 2014.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Pierce described himself 'as a man who has watched the women he loved so much struggle with great pain'.
He began by saying: 'To watch someone you love have his or her life eaten away bit by bit by this insidious disease, that kind of sorrow becomes an indelible part of your psyche.
'I held the generous, strong, beautiful hand of my first wife Cassie as ovarian cancer took her life much too soon.

He revealed that his wife, Keely had a documentary aired at the Cannes Film Festival, and when organisers discovered Pierce was a painter, they asked him to auction an artwork for amFAR - a charity supporting AIDS research.
In an interview with Parade magazine, Pierce said: 'I'd done a painting of Bob Dylan, who is a great hero of mine.
'It sold for $1.4million (£1.1million) and Keely and I just danced into the night. If it could be like that all the time, I definitely would give up the acting game.'

Pierce took up painting in 1987 when his late wife, Cassandra, was diagnosed with ovarian cancerm and has admitted he encouraged his children to pursue any of their passions except his own: acting.
'Just because it is f***ing hard work,' he told GQ in 2022. 'It's a cross to bear. You're constructing and destroying yourself.'
