has revealed she and her ex-husband have repaired their relationship and are now friends, 13 years after their bitter split.

The singer, 51, and Oasis frontman Liam, 53, got married in 2008 but broke up in 2013 after the rock star was unfaithful and fathered a daughter, Gemma, with American journalist Liza Ghorbani. Their divorce was finalised in April 2014.

In a new interview, Nicole admitted the break-up was really tough on her and Gene, who was just 12 when Liam left the family home, but now everyone gets on well.

Gene accompanied his father around the world on the Oasis reunion tour last year.

Appearing on 's Spinning Plates podcast, Nicole said: 'For a while now we all get on really well, Gene gets on well with his Dad, it's the best.'

Nicole - who now has a six-year-old daughter Skipper with her husband, executive Stephen Haines - said in the aftermath of her split from Liam, she and Gene, now 24, shared a bed together and supported each other through the tumultuous time.

Appearing on Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Spinning Plates podcast, Nicole said: 'For a while now we all get on really well, Gene gets on well with his Dad, it's the best'

She said: 'When Liam and I separated Gene was 12. He slept next to me. Him and I would sit next to each other and watch Family Guy every night, religiously.

'It was our thing, we'd both sleep watching Family Guy. He loved Family Guy, so it was like okay we'll watch Family Guy. I think he felt like my protector.

'It was also very challenging because he was nearly a teenager, and I was really nervous about it.

'Like that Kevin and Perry thing where they come downstairs and they changed and I didn't know if I could handle that. But he did it really well, he had moments. But he was always quite supportive.

'I think that during that period we just had each other's backs, without really talking about it. We just were there for each other. I don't remember that fine line where he suddenly went back to his room because we were both so okay that it wasn't a moment where I felt like he'd gone back to his room.

'I loved those nights as well, we'd just get into bed and watch Family Guy. He just made everything okay in his way.'

Gene is now fronting his own band Villanelle and dad Liam went along to support them at their recent London gig.

Nicole says it was Gene who convinced her to reunite with sister Natalie Appleton and release new single Falling Into You.

She said: 'He's the sweetest boy.

'He's 24 but he's still my baby. I love him, like I could squeeze his guts with love. It's that sort of thing. I'm so proud of him and he makes me laugh, he makes us all laugh.

'His relationship with Skipper is just adorable. He might be 24 and she's six but he'll become six for her. They have the best time.

'Its so sweet when he has an opinion because it means more to me than anybody else's. I trust it more than anything.

'He said, "Ask Aunty Nat." I thought, "OK, I will." So that's what happened. I love it when they get involved, because it doesn't happen often. I'm not allowed to get involved in his stuff, at all. He does his own music and he won't play it to me. I hear it when it's ready to go. He just gets worried that I might have my opinions or I might get stressed about it. So it's nice when he suddenly says something.'

Liam also has son Lennon, 26, from his first marriage to Patsy Kensit, and 27-year-old daughter Molly Moorish-Gallagher with Lisa Moorish.

The singer is now engaged to Debbie Gwyther.
