Michelle Collins Spotted on Crutches After Fall

is seen using crutches as she made her way to her parked car on Tuesday after rushing to A&E following a painful fall.

The actress, 63, who portrays the soap villain Cindy Beale, revealed she 'bashed her knee' badly while attempting to stop her pet pooch from running out the door over the weekend.

Michelle looked in discomfort as she hobbled along the road using crutches before climbing into the vehicle. 

The layered a brown roll neck jumper and black midi skirt under a long leather trench coat for the outing. 

She kept comfortable in a pair of flat slip on shoes and opted for a pair of chunky sunglasses.  

Michelle revealed she was rushed to hospital in Norfolk following the accident as she shared a series of photos including one in a wheelchair and another wearing a leg brace.

The BBC actress thanked the hospital for their 'great' service and joked she will have to film her upcoming EastEnders scenes 'sitting down'. 

She wrote: 'Fell over trying to stop Peggy bolting out the door while staying with friends in Norfolk bashed my knee, cuts and bruises. #thanks #thequeenelizabethhospital @nhsnwccg @kingslynntown #norfolk

'Staff were great, #efficient #kind despite apparently very low on hospital league table I would never have known from the service I got.

'Seems so unfair to label a hospital like this not great for morale as one of the lovely nurses said.

'Also went to my local hospital @Finchleymemorialhospital who were great too! So lucky to have them so near me. Happy Easter xx'

She added: 'Sitting down scenes this week ! @bbceastenders'

During the trip to Norfolk, Michelle revealed she 'scattered' her pet pooch of 16 years' ashes on the beach. 

She said: 'So we scattered Humphrey’s ashes on the beach in Norfolk #oldhunstanton he used to love it here so we come back with Peggy to stay with friends been coming here for years. #missyou'. 

Michelle shared the sad news that her beloved rescue dog, Humphrey had died last month. 

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a heartfelt snap of herself and her Shih Tzu together over the years. 

She wrote: 'Hi all, I wanted to put out a post to let you know that my beautiful little Humphrey has passed away. 

'He came into my life about 16 years ago from the rescue charity alldogsmatter and he has been my steadfast companion everywhere since.

'I can’t think of a single dressing room that I have been in without him. He would often be seen in one of my baskets or bags accompanying me on theatre tours or shopping trips (often escaping from the changing rooms at inappropriate moments).

'He’s visited retirement homes, hospitals and made lots of children smile (grown ups too) with his gentle nature and tongue that always sticks out.'

She continued: 'When I met my husband 14 years ago I had to relinquish some of that time because Mike developed such a close bond with him that he would often go with him to his work or be his only company when I was away or working late.

'The only trouble with that was he often tried clipping Humphrey’s hair himself…. which didn’t always work out to plan.

'I cannot begin to describe how much joy he has brought into our lives and it is truly heart wrenching that he will no longer be there when I open my front door, wake up in the morning or go to sleep at night. Today Mike said to me, “my world was just a better place with him in it and I feel lost”.
