The 56-year-old Oscar winner - who recently enjoyed - shared a sweet 18th birthday tribute to his eldest son Levi on Tuesday.
In the caption, he shared blunt life advice to his son as he wrote: '18. That’s a # buddy. Enjoy and handle your new freedoms. @levimcconaughey.'
In the cute photo the father and son could be seen matching in light blue dress shirts along with jeans as they had one arm around each other as they did the 'rock on' hand gesture with their other hand.
Levi is an aspiring actor as he made his acting debut alongside his father in The Lost Bus released last year and can soon be seen in drama Way of the Warrior Kid.
Matthew shares Levi with wife of 14 years , 43, as they welcomed him in 2008.

The actor sweetly said: 'I want y'all to know, you’re getting a very cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey, and I hope y’all can do your best to treat him the same way.
'Levi, enjoy the adventure, enjoying telling your story, expressing yourself and what you put out there and the exchange you get with people out there.'
The couple finished off the video with applause as they both said in unison: 'Happy birthday, go check him out.'
Levi did not waste any time as an hour later he responded to his parents' social media post with the comment: 'Mamma and Papai thank you!'
He also went on his feed to share a video montage of him enjoying his many interests which include surfing, cliff diving, skiing, doing volunteer work, and spending time with his friends and family. He captioned it 'happy to be here.'
