Her recent separation from the Portuguese footballer was revealed this week, after 18 months of dating.

The Daily Mail can now reveal The Gentlemen, which is led by , has been commissioned for a third series, despite its second instalment months away from airing.

The series, which landed in 2024 and carries the same name as the 2019 movie, also stars Vinnie Jones as hardman Geoffrey Seacombe and Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass, the daughter of Ray Winstone's crime boss character. 

Maya Jama will play the glamorous wife of one of Theo James' on-screen associates in the show.

An insider said: ‘Netflix have a lot of confidence in the second series being just as popular as the first.

‘It’s set to air later this year and bosses are counting on Maya Jama to add the sex factor the first series was lacking.

‘It is early days for season three, though scripts have been written and Netflix have officially green lit the episodes.

‘Casting is being completed over the coming weeks, and crew are being booked with an aim to start filming in autumn.’

Netflix were contacted.

Ritchie, 57, known for his gangster films and also marriage and subsequent high-profile divorce from pop star Madonna, 67, writes and executive produces the hit.

A senior television source added: ‘Programmes are only re-commissioned like this if a channel or streamer truly believes in the show.

‘It is also to ensure the cast are locked into contracts and can’t be booked by rival series which could throw the production schedule into chaos.’

If bosses are to cast Ms Jama again it will come as a much-needed boost for the Love Island presenter.

It is understood her separation from Dias, 29, after over a year of dating, was a mutual but amicable decision.

Hugh Bonneville has also joined the second series along with Chris Eubank Jr, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi and Tyler Conti.

In the first series, James’ character Eddie became the Duke of Halstead and inherited his family’s country estate following his father’s death, but quickly learnt it is home to an underground and large-scale weed factory.

He was thrust into the world of criminality as it became clear the proprietors of the drug empire were not going anywhere.

Exclusive images obtained by the Mail last year showed Mr Jones, 61, in a tense exchange wielding a baseball bat as his character violently knocked a masked man on a motorbike from their saddle.

Wearing a dark ensemble and a plaid baker boy hat, the actor hit the stuntman, who flew up into the air.

James, 41, was also seen on location in London wearing a houndstooth trench coat over a smart suit as he stood with his co-star Ms Scodelario, 34.

The Gentlemen’s 2019 film

It was also a hit, grossing just over $115million at the box office, against a reported budget of $22million.

In the film version, Mickey Pearson (played by McConaughey) was a drug lord that tried to sell off his profitable marijuana business to a dynasty of billionaires.
