Lisa Faulkner has shared a sweet message for her husband on social media for supporting her during her breast cancer battle.

The TV chef, 54, recently announced she had been diagnosed with the disease and explained she has already undergone surgery and will have a course of radiotherapy.

And Lisa revealed that John, 61, has been by her side every step of the way as she wrote a thank you message on her Instagram Story.

Alongside a photo of John, who was sat outside on a piece of garden furniture, Lisa wrote: 'I don't know how I would have coped without this one.

'John Torode you make a wonderful nurse and best friend and I adore you. Thank you for holding me up'.

Lisa married former MasterChef star John in October 2019 after first meeting on the show in 2010, before beginning a relationship a couple of years later.

She said: 'I know I've been very quiet on here, reason being I have had to have surgery for the early stages of breast cancer.

'I had surgery two weeks ago, it was quite a big op but it's all good and I've my results back and they've got everything out.

'So it's all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks.

'I just wanted to say I've got a bit of healing to do but I'm good. I'm well and feeling so much better and I'm so grateful I went for my mammogram.'

Encouraging others to go and get checked out, Lisa said: 'I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up.

'Thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early.'
