Liberty and Eliza from “The Block” criticize Kristy and Brett for their alleged “cheating” accusations

The Block’s Liberty and Eliza have slammed cheating claims made against them by rivals Kristy and Brett last week.  

The pair appeared on KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren on Monday, where they slammed the couple after they aired the explosive allegations.

‘[They’re] not nice people, on and off camera,’ Eliza said of the pair. 

‘They’re exactly the same on camera as they are off camera from what we’ve experienced,’ Liberty added. 

Eliza said appearing on the show wasn’t a game for the hard-working sisters, who took time off their jobs for the renovation series.

‘It wasn’t a game to us… I left my job of 10 years to go on this show. We are real people. We were real then, and we are real now,’ Eliza added. 

Kirsty and Brett claimed the sisters plied the tradies with alcohol, which they refuted saying the moment was captured on camera. 

‘Do you think if it was cheating or dodgy, we would be doing it at their house?’ Eliza said of the controversial moment. 

They accused Kristy and Brett of not being able to grasp that building good relationships can help you along on the show. 

‘What Kristy and Brett can’t grasp is that kindness, respect, good relationships, they actually get you places, and they just can’t fathom it,’ Eliza said.

The team, which has no renovation experience, were hitting back at the cheating claims made by Kristy and Brett last week. 

Last Wednesday, the pair appeared on the same show, where they claimed they were the only pair who didn’t cheat to get ahead throughout the show.

‘We were definitely playing fair,’ Kristy told hosts. 

‘I think the only houses that didn’t try to — well, besides that trying to scheme to get the Mustang over the line — we’re the only team that didn’t cheat.’

Kristy and Brett also claimed all teams went against the rules, with Steph and Gian getting Steph’s father to work for them.

One house even bribed tradies with alcohol to get a job done.

‘Early in the stage with that first body corporate, with having Steph’s dad working on the property, for example, it is against the rules technically,’ Brett added.

‘[They] had extra work being done on houses and stuff or bribing with alcohol to be able to get waterproofing. These are against the rules.’

He continued: ‘That was down at House 5, they had this whole waterproofing to get approved early.’

When Lauren asked which team cheated the most, the couple quickly answered, ‘House 5’, which is Liberty and Eliza’s property.

‘Having your trades do 15 hour days and only paying them for 8, that’s you know…’ Brett said.

It’s not the first time Kristy and Brett have lashed out against House 5’s Liberty and Eliza.

Earlier in the season, the married couple, both 34, became very upset after noticing fellow Blockhead Liberty was being driven around by foreman Dan to run errands and lashed out on camera.

‘Liberty and Eliza get gifted everything, every week. I don’t know how they’ve blown out their budget, because they get given money every single day,’ Kristy said.

‘They get everything handed to them on a silver platter, ‘You woke up this morning! Here’s $500.’ You know what? We’ll get a handout every f**king day of the week, then we’ll be sweet.’

Kristy was referring to an earlier incident, when host Scott Cam gifted Liberty and her sister Eliza $500 for being the ‘most improved team’, much to the dissatisfaction of others.

However, a producer refuted Kristy’s claim, telling the Adelaide couple that all contestants were treated equally during their stint on the show.

‘I don’t need reassurance. If this is how we feel then this is how we feel,’ Brett shot back.
