At just two years old, the eldest of and Ye (formerly ) was grappling with the intrusion that comes with being born into Hollywood royalty.
She was soon to realize that hers would be a life to be played out in front of cameras. Thousands of prying fans were watching her every milestone and emotion, and photographers were a common occurrence upon leaving the $60 million Calabasas mansion she grew up in.
Now, just one month from turning 13, there is no doubt that being a teenage Kardashian-West will be an equally difficult proposition to navigate.

North isn't a typical child.
In fact, she has already been pulled out of her private school to be tutored at home – with the freedom to explore fashion, music and entrepreneurship – recently , N0rthevr, amassed 21 million followers and a handful of trademark applications to her name, and she is quietly plotting a fashion line.
North West, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Ye (Kanye West), will turn 13 in June. With her star on the rise, protecting her from the pitfalls of fame is proving challenging

'Kim would actually prefer it if her kids weren't so in the spotlight, but she knows that isn't realistic,' an insider told the Daily Mail.
'That's why she's preparing them all to be self-sufficient financially and exploit their nepo baby status.'
Kardashian, 45, has prematurely become North's 'momager' after admitting that fame engulfed her eldest child sooner than anticipated.
The Skims founder, who shares a TikTok account with her 12-year-old, is always watching from the background during her daughter's live streams – if not, deploying one of her confidantes to stand in – and has admitted to sacrificing her own jobs to spend days .
'She's not doing anything without me being right there the whole time,' the mother-of-four declared last year on an episode of the family Hulu show, The Kardashians.
On another episode she said, 'Me having to be her momager right now is crazy. It's just, it was not on my list. It was not on my Bingo card for this year. And I'm not ready…
'I'm really conflicted on my daughter's career… I just really want to make sure that everything's really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.'
But what does 'balance' even look like when your life has played out on camera from birth?

North was first introduced to the world almost 13 years ago: a close-up photo of the smiling two-month-old, dressed in white, with chunky hands clutching a matching blanket.
Little did she know, privacy would be a commodity rarely afforded to her. North had a lunch date with Anna Wintour, front-row seats at NY Fashion Week, a Vogue spread, a modeling gig in CR Fashion Book and her TV debut on Keeping Up with the Kardashians under her belt all before she turned two.
She was a cover star by four years old, had showed off her vocals at her dad's Paris Fashion Week show by six and had performed in The Lion King on stage by ten.
In January, Kardashian submitted a federal trademark application under KimYe's Kid Inc. for her daughter's emerging brand 'NOR11' – a combination of the first three letters of North's name and the age she was when she began developing the concept. The filing covers bags, clothing, footwear, jewelry and cosmetics.
'Kim knows North is going to be a star, so the trademarks are practical,' our insider said. 'It's her way of beating anyone hoping to cash in on her fame by trademarking her name to the chase.'
North will turn 13 on June 15, and the world famous nepo baby, who once said she wanted to walk dogs to earn money for art supplies, has added musical artist to her ever-growing résumé.
The youngster dropped N0rth4evr, her debut six-track EP on which she rage-raps about the pitfalls of being a child whom the whole world thinks they know.
The advance was 'well over seven figures,' according to our insider and is reportedly sitting in a trust she can access in adulthood.

North performed a single from her debut six-track EP, N0rth4evr, alongside her dad in April
Keen to monetize the latest venture, she launched a N0rth4evr online shop, selling arm warmers for $25, T-shirts for $56 and long-sleeve tops for an eyewatering $85. Various accessories from pens to studded bracelets range in price from $16 to $30.
The EP release came days after she debuted her single, Piercing on My Hand, alongside her father (also the song's co-producer) live on stage in Mexico City. The duo also performed Ye's 2014 dedication to his daughter – Only One – plus Talking and Bomb.
Proving her might, North is also credited with helping to produce rapper Lil Novi's single Justswagup earlier this year, and guest produced Skaiwater's new album, later joining him on stage in Philadelphia. Her previous collaborations include singing in Japanese on Childlike Things from FKA Twigs' album Eusexua.
Twigs refers to her as a friend, while Chance the Rapper described her as an 'inventor.'
'She's an incredibly talented artist,' he said, speaking to the Daily Mail at The Gordon Parks Foundation Gala on May 19. 'Everything I've heard from her is amazing… very vibrant and well put together. She's an inventor.'
But with fame comes confidence and exposure. Her father's influence has also become all too evident, from shouting at the paparazzi to once describing herself as 'the best ever.' She has also seemingly inherited his passion for self-expression, currently sporting long blue hair, getting finger piercings and wearing fake facial tattoos, colored contacts and teeth grills.
Such confidence has opened her up to nepo baby taunts and criticism about her personality, namely that she is arrogant and entitled – harsh words for any parent to stomach.
And with her status as a rising star in her own right, shielding her and monitoring her every move while trying to maintain their own careers and raise their other children – Psalm, Chicago and Saint – will only become more challenging for Kardashian and Ye.
It is said to be why North has signed with Gamma, the music and media company of former Apple executive Larry Jackson, a trusted family friend who recently took on the Herculean feat of signing Ye after his years-long PR nightmare to release his new album, Bully.
'North is currently working with Larry, who has been behind the careers of Fantasia, Leona Lewis and signed Lana Del Rey,' our insider said. 'The label is also home to fellow nepo babies Willow and Jaden Smith.
'Larry is good friends with Kim and Kanye, so they trust him to support North's career. He is one of the few people Kim and Kanye trust, so he's helping North source ideas.'
