In legal documents filed by the 42-year-old filmmaker on Friday, he argued against 38-year-old Lively's previous insistence that her and Reynolds', 49, wealth is not significant to the case and among jurors.

According to legal paperwork obtained by TMZ, Baldoni thinks the financial component is a key factor because the actress has alleged she's due to his alleged 'smear campaign' against her.

Baldoni, who acted and starred in the 2024 drama It Ends With Us with Lively, thinks Reynolds' income is just as pertinent because his wife 'typically does not accept acting opportunities which conflict with Reynolds' acting schedule – particularly when he is able to garner a higher income for his movies than she can.'

The couple is believed to be worth a combined $400 million.

However, the judge previouslyagainst Baldoni, including her defamation claim – which debunks the argument that his actions affected her income.

Furthermore, the lawsuit claimed the smear campaign damaged Lively's business and inflicted 'severe emotional distress' upon her family.

Lively also alleged that Baldoni showed her explicit videos and photos of other women, openly discussed his struggles with pornography, and made inappropriate remarks about her appearance.

The trial is set to begin on May 18.
