But now, the Bon Jovi frontman revealed to People magazine, 'I'm fully recovered. It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith.'

He recalled the shock of finding out his cord was impaired.
'I’d often joked and said the only thing that’s ever been up my nose was my finger. I never did anything to hurt the cords; I didn’t have any excesses,' he shared.
'I’m a trained vocalist. I’ve practiced the craft,' the singer explained. 'So when a doctor had to explain to me that one of the cords was literally atrophying, it was confusing.'

The doctor, Robert Sataloff, told the publication, 'Jon has worked, throughout his career, harder and more diligently than most of his fans would ever have guessed.'

He explained that the star's vocal cord thinning was not caused by injury or illness – but due to aging. 'Eventually it catches up with all of us.'
Bon Jovi's Forever tour will begin in New York City in July, and end in London in September.
The star said about the upcoming performances, 'It’s not about perfection. It’s about excellence.'
He added: 'It’s like I have the gift to be able to hold this light. The gift that I receive is being in the reflection of that light when it hits the audience, and that’s what I’ve been working for – I’ve been training to find the ability to hold that light.
