Jasmine Stefanovic has weighed in on a hot-button topic.

The shoe designer wife of Today show host  shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding activist Grace Tame on Thursday.

Tame has made headlines this week after Anthony Albanese called the child sexual abuse survivor 'difficult' - sparking widespread backlash against the Prime Minister.

Jasmine commented on a post made by Marie Claire Australia magazine, which detailed the recent controversy.

'When the Prime Minister described Grace Tame as "difficult," it echoed a label that outspoken, confident women have been handed for generations,' the caption alongside the magazine's post read.

It continued: 'For women, "difficult" is rarely a neutral descriptor. It is shorthand. It is the word used when a woman is direct instead of diplomatic, firm instead of accommodating, unwilling to smooth over discomfort for the sake of social ease.'

Tame was among the social media users who liked the post.

Jasmine appeared unimpressed by the publication's commentary, however, and offered her own, brutal takedown.

'Wow is that a joke? She got off lightly!!' Jasmine wrote in reply, with the comment attracting 22 likes as of Thursday evening.

Earlier on Thursday,  dramatically backtracked to put a new spin on his comment that is 'difficult'.

The Prime Minister took part in a rapid-fire Q and A at the Future Victoria summit on Wednesday when he was asked to reply with one-word answers.

Asked to provide a description of Tame, the 2021 Australian of the Year, Albanese replied: 'Difficult.'

When confronted, the PM tried to justify it as a comment on Tame's 'difficult life' - and immediately apologised if that had been misinterpreted.

The admission came after he was asked by an ABC reporter if 'all women are difficult, or just Ms Tame?'

'I was asked to describe people in one word, and Grace Tame, you certainly can't describe in one word,' Albanese explained.

Tame hit back on Thursday when she reposted a message from sex abuse survivor and advocate Harrison James taking a brutal swipe at Albanese

'Difficult is the misogynist's code for a woman who won't comply. History tends to call her 'courageous,' Mr James captioned a photo with Ms Tame.

He added: 'Love you, Grace Tame. Thank you for refusing to be anything but brave.'

Everyday Aussies were just as outraged and branded the comment as a 'betrayal' and called for Albanese to 'do better'.

Tame also sparked controversy earlier this month when she protesting the visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

The stunt sparked widespread calls for the former Australian of the Year winner to be stripped of the honour.
