Peter Van Norden passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, July 9 after a decades-long career in Hollywood and on the stage. 

The late star's wife Wendy confirmed his death to TMZ and stated that he died peacefully on Thursday morning while at a hospice facility in Southern . 

His wife, who was at his side at the time of his passing, told the outlet that Norden had been battling various health conditions. 

The actor kicked off his career in entertainment beginning in the 70s and and Naked Gun 2½ (1991). 

Norden was born in on December 16, 1950 and began to professionally act when he appeared in Shakespeare's play Measure For Measure in 1975. 

He continued to star in more productions during the late 70s including Antigone, Tartuffe, Romeo And Juliet as well as Saint Joan.

In 1979, Norden appeared on screen for the first time as he took on a role in the comedic film Squeeze Play! 

In the early 80s, he landed more roles in movies such as Headin' For Broadway and Waitress!

Norden played Officer Vinnie Schtulman in Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985), which was a sequel to the first film that was released the year before; Steve Guttenberg and Kim Cattrall seen in Police Academy (1984)

While appearing on the big screen, Norden also continued to take on roles in TV shows as well.

He starred in episodes of other 80s series such as Hardcastle and McCormick, Family Ties and Hill Street Blues. 

In 1988, he played the role of Attorney Paulsen in the legal drama film titled The Accused with Jodie Foster and Kelly McGillis. 

The movie received critical acclaim upon its release, with Foster raking in a Golden Globe and Oscar win for Best Actress. 

He went on to star in three episodes of Murder, She Wrote and other shows such as Family Matters, The Invisible Man and ER. 

While appearing on the big screen, Norden also continued to take on roles in TV shows as well; seen above in the TV miniseries The Stand (1994)

Norden was active in theater and appeared in a number of productions such as Hamlet, The Cradle Will Rock, Don Quixote, Hairspray and Macbeth; seen far right in the production titled Art in 2002

In 1991, Norden appeared in The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell Of Fear alongside Leslie Nielsen. Three years later, he starred in the TV miniseries The Stand (1994).

His most recent credit was the short film No Sound But The Sea which was released in 2025. 

Norden was active in theater and appeared in a number of productions such as Hamlet, The Cradle Will Rock, Don Quixote, Hairspray and Macbeth. 

Last year, the actor starred in the production of Corktown '39 which was shown at the Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles.
