The 28-year-old Aussie actor flipped the bird to the cameras - a blunt gesture that was worlds away from his dashing character, Heathcliff, whom he plays in his new film Wuthering Heights.
Shocked fans went online to slam the Brisbane-born actor's cheeky act, pointing out how different his real-life persona appears to be from the dashing characters he portrays.
'Classless as usual when away from the red carpet and interviews,' one person sniped, while another added: 'Fame has well and truly gone to his head.'
'Rude and unnecessary body language,' someone else commented, and another chimed in: 'Not a good look you are sending your fans.'

'Definitely no charisma,' wrote another.

Jacob's rude act at the airport was in stark contrast to the polished image he has been presenting during the film's press tour alongside co-star Margot Robbie, where the pair have been leaning heavily into the gothic romance of their latest project.
Indeed, Jacob took his embodiment of his leading man to new heights as he accompanied Margot down the red carpet at the Sydney premiere on Thursday evening.
The Euphoria star opted for a sharp blue double-breasted suit as he posed for photos at the premiere.

Meanwhile, Margot, who plays his lover Catherine Earnshaw in the film, looked radiant in a flowing off-shoulder ivory gown, featuring a structured, boned corset bodice that cinched her silhouette perfectly.
She added a romantic touch with sheer tulle sleeves and a mermaid-style flowing skirt layered with delicate tulle that moved gracefully with each step - a modern nod to the gothic romance of her latest movie.
During the film's press tour, the stars haven't shied away from showing off their chemistry on the red carpet.
In fact, it has led to some complaints from fans that the duo have taken inspiration from Sydney Sweeney's 'PR playbook,' after she put on a similarly cosy display with co-star Glen Powell in 2023 to promote their film Anyone But You.

Jacob himself recently raised eyebrows during a press interview when he declared the pair had a 'mutual obsession' while filming.
Speaking to Fandango, with Margot sitting nearby, he said he made sure he was never more than 10 metres away from the Barbie star on set.
'If you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you're going to make sure you're within five to ten metres at all times,' he said.
'Watching how she drinks tea, how she eats her food. When is it going to slip? And it never comes undone.'
He explained that the mutual 'obsession' helped with getting into character, adding: 'There'd be a moment where we'd be running hand-in-hand through the moors, maybe not even in the scene, just setting it up, where I'd look across at her and she'd be looking at me and you really realised you are looking at Catherine and she was looking at Heathcliff.

'And in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.'
Meanwhile, Margot has said that she became 'co-dependent' on Jacob during their time working together on the film.
She said: 'I'm so codependent with people I work with and I love everyone so much and I'm always that person who's so devastated when a job's over and I never want it to end. I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob too.'

Margot went on to add that she became so accustomed to the Saltburn star's presence that when he wasn't around, she felt 'really unnerved and unmoored', adding: 'I felt quite lost, like a kid without their blanket or something.'

The Oscar-nominated star also revealed the touching gesture Jacob made when they filmed over Valentine's Day last year.
She recalled: 'We were shooting on Valentine's Day. You made my day and, as Heathcliff, filled my room with roses.
'I remember thinking on Valentine's Day, oh he's probably a very good boyfriend, 'cause there's a lot of thoughtfulness in this. You did a lot of very thoughtful things.'
On Wednesday, it was revealed Margot and Jacob had matching signet rings made to commemorate their time together.
Each of the beautiful rings features an image of two skeletons embracing, and the words 'Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.'
