Garner and Affleck Reunite for Sons Birthday Bash

Jennifer Garner and were seen spending some quality family time together on Saturday in Los Angeles.

The friendly exes, who are both 53, were reunited for a paintball session after they were seen leaving her home in Brentwood, in his black BMW.

They then drove to Castaic where the paintball facility Combat Paintball Park is located.

The occasion was their youngest child Samuel's birthday: he turned 14-years-old on Friday. Samuel's siblings Violet and Seraphina were not seen.

This comes one year after Garner and Affleck were spotted in a cozy clinch during a paintball session for the boy on his 13th birthday at the same venue.

Because of the way Affleck had his arm around Garner, it appeared as if they were much more than friendly exes.

, the Argo star had just split from his second with Jennifer Lopez, and Garner was dating John Miller.

On Saturday, Garner wore a white tank top with faded, baggy blue denim jeans, blue sneakers and a blue Linden cap and aviator sunglasses as she carried a beige tote bag.

Affleck was sporty in an olive green button-down shirt over a white T-shirt with dark jeans and high-top sneakers as he carried a blue lunch box with a soda in his hand.

There was also a black party bus seen which may have carted Samuel and his friends to Castaic. 

The exes were married in June 2005 in Turks and Caicos.  They announced their separation in June 2015 after 10 years of marriage and officially divorced in October 2018. 

Affleck and Lopez first started dating in early 2002 after .  They then became known as Bennifer after he appeared in her music video for Jenny From The Block. They got engaged in November 2002. 

They postponed their September 2003 wedding and officially broke up in January 2004 as they blamed the media.

They got back together in 2021 then got engaged in early 2022 and were legally married in a surprise, intimate ceremony in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. 

The couple subsequently held a second wedding celebration with friends and family on August 20, 2022, in Georgia.

They filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, after two years of marriage.

In March 2025, video obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail, reveals the star tenderly embracing.

The pair were in Castaic near  with Sam and Seraphina. Their eldest, Violet, was away studying at Yale.

It came just after his marriage to Lopez ended and he was a single man. 

In August 2024, the Hustlers actress filed for divorce.

Affleck reportedly then He did the same in 2025. 

It's a support system that certainly makes sense. 

Affleck, who has been open about his battle with alcoholism, first Garner stayed by his side throughout.

Last week Garner opened up about the challenges she while co-parenting her children with Affleck.

The Hollywood actress but they split after a decade of marriage in 2015 with the former couple and Garner has revealed they have both learned how to be 'both parents' for the children.

During an appearance on Bustle's One Nightstand podcast, Jennifer explained: 'When your kids grow up in two separate households, I become mom and dad, and he becomes dad and mom.

'You kind of can't help it, right? Because you don't have the benefit of both sides, the yin and yang being in the same house, so you have to have a bit of both in the way you parent.

'There's a little bit of loss in that, but there's also something gained in that ... You also just learn, it's made me let go and not focus so much on the bringing up.'

After the divorce, Garner opened up about the pair's relationship they will always feel bonded despite the split.

She told Vanity Fair magazine in 2016: 'I didn't marry the big fat movie star; I married him. And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can't have these three babies and so much of what we had. He's the love of my life.

'We still have to help each other get through this [divorce]. He's still the only person who really knows the truth about things. And I'm still the only person that knows some of his truths.'

Affleck later admitted he never wanted to because he was worried about the effect it would have on the children, but the exes have made it work.

During an appearance on Good Morning America in 2020, he explained: 'I didn't want to get divorced, I didn't want to be a divorced person, I really didn't want to be a split family with my children. It upset me because it meant I wasn't who I thought I was and that was so painful and so disappointing. In myself.

'When you have children with somebody, you're connected to them forever. And I'm very lucky she [Jenifer] is the mother of my children.

'I'm very grateful and respectful of her. Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not.'
