Gaga Enjoys Date Night Amid Liza Minnelli Drama

Lady Gaga has stayed silent after Liza Minnelli slammed her for being 'condescending' during their fumbled presentation at the 2022 Oscars, so no doubt a night out with her love was much needed.

The pop star, 39, and her fiancé Michael Polansky, 42, were spotted leaving exclusive, members-only Soho House in West Hollywood on Friday after dinner, a rare treat as she's been on a roll since the tour kicked off last July.

Gaga was dressed in her usual Goth black attire featuring a mock turtleneck with elbow-length sleeves along with a mini-skirt that showed off her toned legs.

Black boots and dark shades completed her ensemble, while her white-blonde hair was styled straight and fell neatly down her back.

At her heels was her beau, dressed down in a black jacket over black trousers with a baseball cap keeping his face in shadow.

Gaga, who recently thanked Bad Bunny for including her in his Super Bowl halftime show, stepped into a waiting vehicle as Polansky followed, their driver holding the door open for them.

The outing comes after an except from Minnelli's upcoming memoir Kids, Wait Till You Hear This revealed what the 79-year-old Cabaret star really thought about the pop artist.

Minnelli claimed Gaga demanded that she use a wheelchair to co-present the award for Best Picture and 'didn't miss a beat to play the kindhearted hero for all the world to see' after the entertainer stumbled over a line on stage.

The Tony and Oscar winner alleged that she 'was inexplicably ordered — not even asked — to sit in a wheelchair or not appear at all. I was told it was because of my age, and for safety reasons, because I might slip out of the director’s chair, which was bulls***. I will not be treated this way, I said.'

She was 'heartbroken' by the turn events had taken, on top of which she 'was much lower down than I would have been in the director’s chair. Now I couldn’t easily read the teleprompter above me. How would you feel if you were wheeled out, against your will, to perform in front of a live audience, and unable to see clearly?'

Minnelli then pointedly recalled that 'when I stumbled over a few words, Gaga, who was at my side, didn’t miss a beat to play the kindhearted hero for all the world to see. "I got you," she said, leaning down over me.'

According to Minnelli, Gaga approached in her dressing room after the debacle to ask: 'Are you okay?' to which the star replied simply: 'I'm a big fan,' having 'learned this lesson years ago from Mama and Papa. At a moment of high stress, you stay gracious.'

In the immediate aftermath of the Oscars, Minnelli's best friend Michael Feinstein said the star - who is the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli - was 'sabotaged' by the last-minute wheelchair switch-up and came away feeling 'very disappointed,' on The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM.

Minnelli previously maintained she would never publish an autobiography, saying: 'Tell it when I'm gone!'

However, she changed her mind after being infuriated by the inaccurate depictions of her famous mother's life and her own, so she has put her story between covers.

Meanwhile, Gaga's break will soon be over as she's set to return to the Kia Forum in Inglewood for her February 22 and 23 shows before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas for her February 28 and March 1 gigs. Her tour concludes on April 13 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Polansky, an American entrepreneur and venture capitalist who has also collaborated on some of Gaga’s songs, has been supporting the singer on tour.

He joined Gaga on her stop in Paris last November and in Miami, where they were spotted enjoying a sunny day aboard a yacht in September.

Engaged since April 2024, the couple have not publicly set a date and recently told Rolling Stone they 'already feel married.'

'We’re talking about it all the time,' Gaga said when asked about their wedding plans.

Michael - who has co-written various songs with Gaga - then added: 'We have these breaks, and they’re tempting. It’s like, "OK, can we get married that weekend?"

'We don’t want a really big wedding, but we want to enjoy it. In a lot of ways, we already feel married, so it’s not like it’s gonna change much.'

Gaga also shared she would love to start a family with Polansky. 'Being a mom is the thing I want the most,' she said.

Polansky admitted to being particularly inspired by Sir Elton John and David Furnish, whose sons - Zachary, 14, and Elijah, 12 - are Gaga's godchildren.

'Their kids have turned out to be very happy,' he noted.

'The most important thing is making it feel like this is just our family, this is what we do. Her being Lady Gaga and the art and all of it is not something that she has to compartmentalize away from her relationship with me or when she’s a mother.'
