Erling Haaland Enjoys Summer Break in St. Tropez

Erling Haaland made the most of his summer break by soaking up the sun in St. Tropez on Sunday.

The Norwegian forward, 23,has taken himself on the getaway to the French commune after his team failed to qualify for the Euros 2024.

He was spotted spending time aboard his luxury yacht, opting for a small pair of red and purple shorts as he carried around a ball.

The sports star  then made a splash into the ocean below him as his famous blond locks swooped above his head.

In further snaps, he was seen emerging from the water and lounging around above to the water before taking to a chair to rest.

The trip comes on the day that football tournament kicks off in Germany, with Serbia set to go head-to-head against England on Sunday night.

In November, it became apparent that the Manchester City striker would not be taking part in the Euros after his native team failed to qualify.

It meant that Haaland, who also missed qualifier against Scotland with an ankle injury, is still yet to play in a major tournament with his country.

Norway has actually failed failed to appear at a World Cup or Euros since Euro 2000.

It may have been bad news for the City number nine, but there was better news for both Switzerland and the Netherlands who confirmed their qualification for Germany.

In May, Halaand admitted that he wanted criticism of his form next season to fuel him on a charge for a third straight Golden Boot.

‘If this is a bad season, then I’ll take it,’ said Haaland, who then added sarcastically: ‘It was a bad season, plain and simple — the only way is up. The more haters and critics, the better.’

Gareth Southgate’s men kick off their tournament in Gelsenkirchen at 8pm hoping to go one better three years ago when they lost on penalties in the final against Italy at Wembley.

Ahead of their opening Group C game fans were in confident mood as they descended on the western Germany to down steins of lager in the hopes England can live up to their tag as favourites to pick up the trophy for the first time.

Some 40,000 are expected to be in the city and some could be heard belting out the Neil Diamond classic that has become the unofficial anthem of the England football team.

One fan wearing a St George’s Afro wig sat outside a pub and declared: ‘It’s coming home, sir.’
