In the questionable clip - which she has since deleted - the blonde offers tips on what to do before the Year of the Horse, describing the traditions as 'woo woo crazy-girl' behaviour.

'Reminder: as long as you are alive you can begin again, and again and again,' she wrote in her caption, adding the hashtags, '#yearofthesnake' and '#yearofthehorse'.

Her video sparked widespread backlash on social media, with several users filming videos slamming Em for supposedly treating Chinese New Year like a 'trend'.

On Tuesday, one creator named Jordan Tan uploaded a lengthy video explaining how seeing influencers post about 'how to celebrate Chinese New Year' and offering tips felt deeply frustrating.

'I have seen so many influencers this Chinese New Year talk about celebrating Chinese New Year, and they are coming off so f**king tone-deaf. I actually can't,' she raged.

'I've seen them post about how like they're telling people what to do before Chinese New Year, being like, 'And remember, don't wash your hair, guys!''

'It's like... my culture is not your trend,' she said.

Another user named Grace also uploaded a similar video slamming influencers for treating Chinese New Year like a trendy aesthetic.

In the comments, Em responded to the video with a grovelling apology, writing: 'This was so incredibly insightful. I'm sorry if my video upset you - I removed it immediately as I never intended to upset anyone'.

Chinese New Year is a significant traditional holiday marking the lunar new year.

Celebrated with family gatherings, feasts, and cultural events, it features customs like giving red envelopes and setting off fireworks.

Each year corresponds to a zodiac animal, influencing festivities and traditions, symbolising renewal, prosperity, and good fortune.
