He also delivered several covers during a poignant tribute section – including Rick James's Give It to Me Baby, 's Rock With You, and Prince and the Revolution's Purple Rain.
Noticeably missing from the tribute set at the Palms Las Vegas was any nod to - who died in 2012 at age 48 - or her dazzling array of hits.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for comment and has yet to hear back.
The exes were married from 1992-2007, and shared daughter , who died in 2015 at age 22.

Brown has been married to Alicia Etheredge since 2012.
