The 45-year-old singer took to her Instagram Stories to share a new black-and-white snap of the 12-year-old grade-schooler standing a head taller than his four-foot-three mom.
Ace had his arm around his petite parent and was seen giving her a nice kiss on the forehead.
'My 12yr old Ace is much taller than is [sic] Mama,' Simpson wrote across the photo along with love and heart emojis.
Accompanying the snap was an excerpt of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me, which has significance for the Savage hitmaker, who recently announced her collaboration with Chicken of the Sea 22 years after her embarrassing reality TV blunder.
'Fun fact... he was born to this tune,' she added in the caption.

Jessica Simpson took to her Instagram Stories to share a new snap of her 12-year-old son Ace who stood a head taller than his four-foot-three mom
The singer's grade-schooler appears to have gone through a major growth spurt since his 12th birthday last July, which the proud mom commemorated with a photo and touching message on Instagram
In photos that Simpson posted to Instagram last July commemorating Ace’s 12th birthday celebration at Six Flags, the grade-schooler appeared a few inches shorter than his mom.
On that occasion, Simpson gushed in the caption: 'Happy 12th Birthday Ace!!! You are the sun. You are the moon. You are the wishes of every shooting star. You are the light. You are the way.
'You are the love that makes your Mamas heart glow! There’s absolutely nothing you can’t do. You excel in every single thing without even tryin’. You’re just that kid with a heart of gold that can do it ALL. Everything you do and all that you are makes me so very proud. I love you ACE the GREAT!'

Growth spurts in tweens and teens is perfectly normal and expected. While girls’ peak height velocity tends to happen between the ages of 10 and 14, boys shoot up between 12 and 16, so Ace likely has more growing to do.
Simpson’s proud mom moment comes after she unveiled her new 'boho Texas' flair spring collection at Walmart.
In photos posted to her Instagram account, the mom-of-three fairly sizzled as she modeled lingerie, a blouse and jeans, knitted hoodie with shorts, large gold-rimmed sunglasses and jewelry.
Simpson’s line ranges from sizes XS to 5X and everything is priced under $60.
'Our new spring collection has sprung into Walmart,' she shared in the caption.

Simpson enthusiastically responded: 'I'd totally jump on that. Yes, I'm single - very into like, very … I'm ready!'
Bush Hager then questioned: 'What are you into so I can set my criteria?'
Simpson explained: 'My type of person is one of a kind. I don't have a look, or anything.
'I just like for somebody to be individually, who they are. And exude confidence without the ego.
'It's hard to find but I feel like it's out there. I don't need somebody to be supportive of me all the time.

'I feel like the independence that I have right now, if I can have that and give it to someone else, that'd be cool.'

She wrote on Instagram at the time: 'Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.
'Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them.
