'It was f***ed up ... somebody attempted at [harming] me and my family,' A$AP Rocky, 37, whose full name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, told Vibe of the March 8 incident in a wide-ranging interview published Tuesday.
The Praise the Lord (Da Shine) artist, who is father to sons RZA, four, and Riot, two, and daughter Rocki, eight months, with Rihanna, 38, said the shooting - in which the suspect used an AR-15-style rifle - left the family rattled.
'It of being able to just be free,' said the rapper, who had been in an Airstream trailer on the property at the time of the incident. 'I don’t want to be robbed of my peace and joy.'

The suspect in the shooting, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, faces multiple charges in connection with the incident, including attempted murder.
She pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against her in a March 25 hearing in Superior Court. Ortiz, who faces life in prison if convicted, remains in custody on $1.875 million bail.

A$AP Rocky in the interview also opened up about the mentality he brings to parenting.

In the wake of the shooting, The Grammy-winning Umbrella singer was experiencing multiple emotions, insiders told People.
She shared seething posts criticizing the hitmaker on Facebook, including one in which she suggested Rihanna had spoken negatively about her, though no connection between the women has been established.
She also shared videos in which she discussed Rihanna's death and made disturbing threats toward the singer.
The Daily Mail has also revealed that Ortiz was previously arrested for domestic violence, careless driving and violating pretrial release conditions in Florida.
