Rebecca ‘Bec’ Judd has revealed the terrifying moment she narrowly escaped amid a harrowing mid-air incident.
The AFL WAG, 42, recounted the shocking tale during an interview on SAFM’s Bernie & Emma G with Bel Sloane show on Friday.
Bec said she and husband Chris, 41, went on an adventurous date early on in their relationship, when tragedy struck and she found herself plummeting through the sky.
‘We secretly went and did a skydive together in Perth when he was playing for West Coast and my parachute didn’t open,’ she told hosts Bernie Vince and Bel Sloane.
Bec said that while Chris’ jump went off without a hitch, the mother-of-four almost saw her life flash before her eyes when things went horribly wrong on her jump.

Rebecca ‘Bec’ Judd, 42, has revealed the terrifying moment she narrowly escaped amid a harrowing mid-air incident
‘Juddy jumped out, felt the parachute and he’s all good. So, we’re strapped to someone, I jump out, we’re falling through the sky,’ she said.
‘My tandem guy pulled the parachute—the parachute opened and tore off. It ripped off and went flying through the sky, and we started falling to the ground again.’
She said Chris witnessed the shocking scene unfold, convinced it would end badly.
‘Chris is watching, and we’d only been dating for a couple of months, and his tandem guy who he was strapped to went, “Oh, there goes your friend,”‘ she recounted.
‘And we started dropping to the ground, and he went, “This is where it ends.”‘
Bec said it was her skydiving partner’s quick thinking that ultimately saved her life.
‘Luckily, just before we got to the ground, he found the little emergency parachute—a dinky little kind of BS emergency parachute opened and saved us,’ Bec explained.
‘We landed pretty quickly after that.’

‘So, my free fall, you know, that’s all you get, 60 seconds of free fall—I pretty much free fell almost all the way to the ground,’ she continued.
Bec went on to say Chris told her he watched as she plummeted to the ground, with the WAG adding she landed long before her partner.
‘Chris just said he just saw us just go boom, all the way down. I jumped after him, but I think I ended up landing about five minutes before him,’ she said.
‘Thank God the emergency parachute worked.’
Luckily, the crisis was averted and Bec went on to tie the knot with Chris in a lavish Melbourne ceremony on New Year’s Eve in 2010.
They now share four children—Oscar, 13, Billie, 10, and twins Darcy and Tom, eight.
