Tamra Judge has shared an update about her relationship with daughter Sidney Barney.
The 58-year-old reality TV star — who recently opened up about the stress of filming — said she reunited with her previously estranged child, 26, during the Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 reunion on Friday.
Tamra shares Sidney, as well as daughter Sophia, 20, and son Spencer, 25, with ex-husband Simon Barney. She is also mom to Ryan Vieth, 39, whom she shares with ex-husband Darren Vieth.
‘She came to the house, and she was going to lunch with Sophia, and I went outside and we hugged,’ she said through tears. ‘We talked about life for about 30 minutes, and she’s very sweet.’
Tamra added, ‘Then she said, “Mom, can I hug you goodbye?” And she hugged me, and I just held onto her for so long, and I just said, “I can’t let you go. I just can’t let you go.”‘
The mother-of-four said, ‘It was just a really, really special moment. She’s coming around.’

Tamra and Sidney’s relationship was damaged following her contentious 2011 divorce from Simon.
Amid the split, her older daughter took her ex-husband’s side, opting to live with him full-time despite the parents having a 50/50 custody arrangement.
In 2016 the RHOC star told Andy Cohen and her castmates that Sidney told her, ‘I don’t want to live with you anymore. You’ve ruined my dad’s life.’
She added that her daughter ‘left that day and has not come back.’
Then in August 2017 Tamra was accused of mental abuse by her estranged teen daughter in an emotional Facebook post.
After years attempting to win back her daughter’s affection, Tamra was the subject of a lengthy post by a then-18-year-old Sidney.
In the post, Sidney claimed her mom neglected her three youngest children throughout her parents’ divorce.
‘She was no mother to me. This was an unhealthy environment for all of us kids and unfortunately I was the only one to recognize this and take steps to get out of that toxic environment,’ she revealed.

She expressed that her famous mother’s public image and rampant social media use was an ongoing point of contention.
‘I have explained this to her numerous times in court, in therapy, and when we would meet up that the ONLY reason I am not living with her is because she continues to do the things that pushed me out of her house, like talking about me on the show/press/social media, doing embarrassing things on the show, lying to me and putting herself first to name a few,’ Sidney wrote.
Elsewhere in the emotionally charged missive, she shared, ‘Not even two weeks after I graduated she posted a photo of me and shared it with her one million followers knowing that it would get picked up by the press.
‘The one thing I asked and have been asking for 4 years now has been to not talk about me because I don’t want to be in the spotlight.’
In 2024 things shifted, with Tamra telling Page Six about Sidney: ‘She is reaching out to her brother and sister now, so that’s good news. So we do have some progress.’
