I'm A Celebrity viewers have accused producers of 'bending the rules' after was allowed to remain in camp on Tuesday night.

The explosive episode saw Jimmy Bullard try to sabotage an elimination trial so he could go home, but it meant Adam, who was his partner, would also be evicted from the camp.

The former footballer, 47, was paired with the actor, 37, in Rancid Run. Jimmy decided after the klaxon sounded, to forfeit the challenge and shout: 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.

The sudden decision sparked a mass fall-out between the pair, with Adam launching into an expletive-laden rant at Jimmy for sending him home too.

However after the heated exchange, hosts and asked the rest of the campmates if they were happy with Adam returning.

While Harry Redknapp and Craig Charles were unimpressed with the actor's 'over-the-top' behaviour, the group agreed he would be allowed to stay. Adam then dissolved into floods of tears.

However, fans slammed the sudden change in rules which meant Adam would remain despite being on the losing team.

Fans wrote on X: 'Rules are rules and Adam should have to leave too regardless of whether you agree with Jimmy's calling out. I'm just a stickler for the rules, I guess.';

'It might not seem ‘fair’, but you can’t just change the rules and save Adam because Jimmy didn’t give it a go… Rules are rules. Giving the choice to the camp mates so you can blame the rule change on “well the camp said he could stay” is a cop out';

'So Adam was allowed to stay because he cried?.. If he’d have accepted it, like Harry would have for example, they’d not have asked about him staying';

'Hate it when rules get changed. There's a reasons for rules, stick to them' and 'So Adam was allowed to stay because he cried? If he's have accepted it, like Harry would have for example, they'd not have asked about him staying.'

Unlike the previous all-star series, the second series features a live public vote during the grand final in London later this month to crown the Legend.

While the eliminations in South Africa were determined by performance in challenges, viewers will have the final say on who the winner is.

Daily Mail has contacted ITV for comment.

Adam and Jimmy are said to be still not on speaking terms. The I'm A Celebrity final has reportedly been thrown into chaos with Jimmy facing losing 20% of his show fee if he refuses

Watching the scenes unfold, viewers wrote on X their thoughts, believing Jimmy's actions were the final straw for Adam after being constantly belittled by David Haye

The feud saw Adam shout after Jimmy's decision to quit: 'If you f*****g wanted to go. Don't take me with you. What is up with you?

'All you have to do is run through some mud and you said "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here."

Jimmy replied: 'It ain't about that. I wanted to go home.'

Adam said: 'Well, go home then in camp. Don't do it on my f****g watch. A quitter bro, I don't quit'.

The actor later broke down in tears as he admitted he regretted losing his temper and had wanted to do his children proud.

Meanwhile, Jimmy said: 'Letting Adam down is a killer. He is on a different journey for me, he wants to do well. I get it. I got my mum and dad at home, the old man ain't too well. I struggled so much. It's got harder and harder. Unfortunately my time was up in the game.'

Watching the scenes unfold, viewers wrote on X their thoughts, believing Jimmy's actions were the final straw for Adam.

The actor had already faced scrutiny from David Haye in camp for days on end, which sparked viewers to say he was being bullied by the boxer.

Fans wrote of Jimmy's decision to sabotage the trial: 'That was calculated. Like Adam said, why didn’t he call it in camp that he wanted to go';

'What an utter joke! So out of order! And I'm not surprised that poor Adam flipped. He's had David and Jimmy with their "banter" from day one and that was just the last straw. I'd have snapped too, poor guy';

'His reaction was not over the top! Jimmy sabotaged';

'Why are the campmates not getting the situation with Adam. Of course Adam’s at breaking point after David’s relentless bullying. Then never in the shows history has a campmate screwed someone over like Jimmy just done. Thank god for Scarlet and Ashley having his back';

'I don't care what Jimmy's reasons are for wanting to leave, he should've walked. But he didn't because he's nasty and wanted to take someone with him clearly. That someone being Adam.'

Adam and Jimmy are said to be still not on speaking terms. The  final has reportedly been thrown into chaos with Jimmy facing losing 20% of his show fee if he refuses to appear.
