During the press tour, Tom revealed how his wife 'boosted his confidence' while filming The Odyssey - as she says it was 'the dream' to be cast together.
The actor, 30, and the actress, 29, confirmed they were married last month and have been making more and more loved-up red carpet appearances together in recent times - including to promote The Odyssey.
Zendaya plays Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicraft in 's epic film, while Tom plays Telemachus – Odysseus's son and the prince of Ithaca.
At the recent world premiere Tom was asked what he had learnt from working so closely alongside his wife on the project.
He replied: 'To be confident and be bold. She makes big choices when she plays characters.

'She's not afraid to create the characters and she does it in a way where they feel like real people.'
He added to Entertainment Tonight: 'She makes big, bold choices. I think there are a few actors who can do it as well as she can, and I love watching her do it.'
Meanwhile Zendaya has said that being cast with Tom in The Odyssey was 'the dream'.
The actress said she was already 'so proud' of Tom when he got cast in the epic, and she was even more delighted they got to share the experience together when she joined him in the star-studded ensemble.
She told Extra: 'I remember when he got the call, I was, like, absolutely over the moon, so excited, so proud.

'And then never did it… cross my mind that a second call would be coming to our home, you know? So, that was so special.
'And yeah, just to be able to share something like that and watch him work in this context… It's the dream... It's absolutely the dream. So, I was happy.'
Tom had previously told Access Hollywood about Zendaya being cast in the film: 'It was such a gift because I know how much she's admired Chris. Interstellar is her favourite movie.'
He also recalled how Chris actually asked if he'd mind having Zendaya join the cast.
Tom said: 'At my meeting with Chris he asked me a question. He said, 'Would you be offended if I asked Zendaya to play Athena?'
'I was like, 'Why would I be offended?' And then I asked him, 'Do you want me to tell her.' And he said, 'Yeah.'
'And I went home and I said, 'You should read the script again.' And she said, 'I already read it'. And I said, 'Just read it again, but read Athena really closely. And the little corners of her mouth [makes a smile on his own face]. It was amazing.'
